• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

    It’s very good that.

    Morriston A+E

The entire primary care system never really got out of the Covid scenario where they felt like they were doing you a massive favour by giving you an actual appointment when you actually need it. When primary care fails, people will rock up at hospitals.

    The World Cup

I can’t wait. I love a World Cup or Euros. I think as we get older some of us (including me at times) get all dewy eyed about how it was better when we were kids/growing up/younger. It mostly wasn’t. Italia 90 is held up often as the World Cup peak for our generation and I’ve got fond memories...

Works a treat as well. Every time.

    25 Years of match memories

It was absolutely roasting hot for that Rushden game.

Not suggesting for a minute he didn’t say it to her but it doesn’t ring true.

    Stop the boats

I’m sure that’s what he told your daughter but I very much doubt it’s actually true that someone can come here from Iran (or anywhere else) and get the relevant licences, tests etc to be driving a taxi within two days.

Farage pocketed £5 million in cryptocurrency

Yeah I don’t care if he is or isn’t. I don’t care how much Farage has either if it’s earned honestly (stop laughing at the back). I’m just surprised at the notion that Starmer is a multimillionaire. He may be but my understanding is that he came from a fairly modest background (toolmaker, nurse...

I have no idea what point you’re trying to make. Let’s flip it. A 42% decrease has happened in the first four months of this year. This has been nowhere in the press hardly. You can bet your old boots that the one per cent increase you’ve mentioned, should it occur, would be front end centre...

    Stop the boats

This thread nicely illustrates my original point.

    Stop the boats

Only if you consider a one per cent increase offsets a 42% decrease. So no.

    Stop the boats

Come October if the stats are similarly positive (the reduction started last October) it’ll be “hmm. Let’s wait till spring see if it’s maintained”. They won’t countenance anything that ruins their world view or narrative. Because they’ve got literally nothing else except “brown people on boats”.

Let’s see how widely these figures get reported eh.

    Where will people be posting

Please don’t post it again. Thanks.

    Where will people be posting

There a lot of that about. Any new site should have no “in the know” ambitions or pretences at “journalism”. A straight discussion forum.

    Where will people be posting

Your first two paras nail it really. The first can be solved (mostly) through moderation and terms and conditions. The second is spot on. The articles on sites like this are gravy. It’s the forum that drives them.

    The Official Match Thread | Swansea City 3 Charlton Athletic 1 | Att: 19,245 | Saturday 2nd May 2026 | The EFL Championship | The Swansea.com Stadium

This thread probably has some life in it yet but seeing as it’s (as things currently stand anyway) the last ever JA.net/Planet Swans match thread, a huge shout out to Jackharris for his work on these over the years in making them by far the most popular and engaging match threads on the whole of...

Seems the Islamist who carried out an antisemitic attack also stabbed a Muslim during said attack. Worst Islamist ever.
