Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr
All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.
Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.
It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.
The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.
We've had better dead ball specialists recently - Hourihane, Brewster? - and Grimes has given way to them, so I can only assume that he's the best we've got at the moment. Which is nuts.
Whilst yesterday was definitely an improvement, I don't think we should get carried away. Oxford had enough chances to win that match. They had 3 very presentable chances in the second half and 2 of those were harder to miss than score.
No. Getting relegated in the hope the owners sell (to someone better, perchance?), so that we can come back stronger is a load of old tosh if you ask me.
Grimes .... aaarrrgghhhh.
If ever there was a game where he should have been subbed it was today. He was proper awful. SW's best chance in the first half, from which they should have scored, was the result of him faffing around and losing possession. The sad thing is, he's never getting...
Thanks for the info. I suppose it's a bit much to expect Sky quality audio from SwansTV. We should, as a minimum, have audio/video/commentary in sync though.
I don't believe he's there in person at away games (but prepared to be wrong). Maybe some local ones perhaps? When he used to have co-comms at away games, like Wyndham, they would often refer to "here" - clearly they were referring to the Swansea.com. Was a bit of a give away.
I agree. Away games have never been an issue for me - and it would support your theory that at home games AOC is watching the play in real time i.e. sitting in the stand looking at the pitch, whereas for away games he's commentating off-tube (I think that's the term).
Well done for sticking...
Excellent stuff. Glad you're getting somewhere - maybe. This really needs to be escalated to someone high up in the club, and you may be onto them. Failing that, I wonder if AOC knows - couldn't find him on Twitter. Maybe a message to #JacksAtHome?
Indeed. It's not rocket surgery. Personally, I wouldn't even wait until match day. I'd get all the parts (I was going to say players, but that could be ambiguous) at the stadium including a person sitting in AOC's seat. Get a video and audio feed from the pitch - from the actual suppliers...
So basically, we (SwansTV) are providing a product; we rely on a third party for some input to this product; there's a fault with this third party input (or the way it interfaces with the rest of the product); we know it and the third party knows it; the third party are looking into the problem...
I guess we'll have to fight one battle at a time. I think you've nailed it though - at home games AOC sits in the stand rather than commentating off-screen (he regularly refers to people sitting around him). Obviously the video feed route is more circuitous, hence the delay (like the...
Good work. Unfortunately, it sounds to me like they don't have a clue. This has been happening for years, so you'd think they'd have sorted it by now.
BTW, I also complained about the audio from the pitch - there was crowd noise but barely anything from the pitch itself (I hear the odd ref's...
So, I've complained on two occasions (Norwich and Stoke)
This was the "human" response to the Norwich email:
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feedback with us. We genuinely appreciate your input and have forwarded your comments to our development team. Your insights are invaluable...
Send your complaint to swanstvlive@streamamg.com
It's getting silly now.
As well as the crowd noise being too low, it's also pretty clear that there are no pitchside microphones. Or if there are, they're not taking any audio from them. But if there were, it would probably make it very...
