Two more signings expected before window closes - keeper and winger due in SA1

Are Govea and Parker injured long term then? They had a taste of first team football last season and Govea was the subject of interest from Juventus a couple of months ago. I'd prefer us to develop our own youngsters than spend money on someone who's 28 next week and doesn't really score or...

Two more signings expected before window closes - keeper and winger due in SA1

I'd love to know what criteria we've used to target Dembele. We need someone who can score and create, yet we're looking at an attacker who scored 6 goals and had 1 assist in 35 games last season (with 2 of those goals coming against us)

Two more signings expected before window closes - keeper and winger due in SA1

Seems strange to me that we want another winger when we already have Ronald, Eom (who could move inside), Bianchini, Ginnelly, Govea and Parker on the payroll, plus Cooper can do a job out wide (just as much as he can centrally anyway). Unless it means Abdulai is finally going to get a chance...

Eom named in South Korea squad

I didn't as I was at the game. I had a skim through afterwards but I'd take a lot of it at face value, we all have an opinion and we're not all going to agree. I've seen Eom play live 4 times I think (pretty sure he played against Rio Ave) and he's looked decent in every game apart from...

Eom named in South Korea squad

Nobody's writing him off, he's looked bright in every other appearance but he was really poor yesterday. It was one game, no big deal

From Ronald's header? It was point blank to be fair to the defender, no idea what the handball law is at the moment (since they change it so often) so not sure if it would have been classed as deliberate handball. I'm pretty sure Darling punched Colwill in the stomach during the fracas at the...

Surely Grimes doesn't need to play in this one? It's a home game against a League One side, give someone else a chance to show what they can do without him

    Ramsey and Colwill

Agreed. Allen should be put out to pasture, it would be good to see Abdulai move ahead of Fulton in the CM pecking order. I'd get rid of Grimes but that's not going to happen, unfortunately

Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea City vs Cardiff City | The EFL Championship

He certainly needs to improve on it, 3 goals and 1 assist in 21 league games is very poor considering the reputation he has with our fanbase

    Ramsey and Colwill

To be fair to Cooper, he did race off into space for an attack several times when Vigouroux had the ball but the ball was instead rolled out to the CBs for them to start their triangles with Grimes just outside our own box

    Ramsey and Colwill

Abdulai is suffering from being played in too many positions. A CM by trade, he's come into the first team and played RB, LB, RW and LW so far. He's still very young (not 22 until December) and 3 years younger than Cooper

    Ramsey and Colwill

I'm glad it's not just me who doesn't rate Cooper, I've never seen a player spend so much time on the ground. Far too lightweight and not a good enough footballer to make up for it

I'd be more inclined to give Pedersen a go first, he looked decent against Gillingham (taking the level of opposition into account of course)

*moot He could end up being a decent player, my argument is that he hasn't played enough football to be judged. Bashir Humphreys and Rhys Williams were highly rated when we had them on loan as well, if Abbey was that good maybe he'd have played more than 5 games since January

Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea City vs Cardiff City | The EFL Championship

I didn't mean it was easy for them, I meant if you look back at the game overall then there wasn't much between the two teams. The classic game of two halves, we were as poor in the second half as they were in the first. Particularly annoying because I'm in the South stand so all the action was...

Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea City vs Cardiff City | The EFL Championship

Exactly, he's a 20 year old with 34 appearances in his career so far. We don't half love overhyping a new signing 🤦🏻‍♂️ Really poor game today between two very poor teams. Franco was the only positive for me, Eom and Ronald in particular were most disappointing. No idea what Williams was doing...

Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea City vs Cardiff City | The EFL Championship

It was in response to Cardiff apparently rushing Ramsey back to be available for Sunday. Allen's been nowhere to be seen for nearly 5 months but now he happens to be fit to play just in time for the Cardiff game

Is it really that different to Joe Allen suddenly deciding he's fit to play?
