Has Sheehan Got What It Takes?

The Blackburn and Middlesbrough performances were very good, Preston was decent, Watford and today disappointing. I will maintain that he deserved more respect than he was getting in some quarters for the immediate turnaround we saw from the fiasco that 2025 had been up to that point, but he's...

Season 24/25| The Official Match Thread | Watford 1 Swansea City 0 | Att: 16,739 | The EFL Championship

I'd like to see both Vipotnik and Bianchini in the same side. Not sure we've ever done it.

Season 24/25| The Official Match Thread | Watford 1 Swansea City 0 | Att: 16,739 | The EFL Championship

Watford fans not happy about their side for tonight. It also appears that the only home game they've won this year is against Luton.

    Cardiff City Relegation Party. #findyourlevel

It would be immensely satisfying. They've circled the plughole for years, yet despite that their fans have still been convinced that they're somehow one of the big boys. Chuck in the disgusting behaviour over the Sala situation and never in the recorded history of British football would a...

Don't get my hopes up. It would be sod's law that the four points they grifted from us will keep them up.

    Cardiff City Relegation Party. #findyourlevel

They're just toying with us. If they can't get relegated even despite getting less (legitimate) points than another team, the cockroaches will survive. Never have I ever hoped to have been proven more wrong than with this post.

    The Fish

He's not a great keeper by any stretch but yes, he's clearly better than the way Russy's defensive "coaching" hung him out to dry as.

We could probably agree a fee, but the wages will be more than we can or should pay. Afraid we're going to have to find his cheap equivalent. Another Franco would be nice and affordable.

    New Manager

Sheehan has increased the performance levels of the same squad that Williams shit the bed with in 2025 by several orders of magnitude. Of the three games he's managed, one was a hard fought draw against a team unbeaten at home since November, and the others were comfortable home wins against two...

~ I must admit that the technicalities of the Danish league system aren't my strong point, but I've seen a few people suggest that he may be available from the middle of this month?

It's highly unlikely that Coleman will be able to make a decision of this magnitude unilaterally.

Cullen is not playing for a side that has been in the bottom three all season.

    Vipotnik

He was in the divisions top ten goalscorers under Duff and is currently Derby's top scorer this season with nearly twice as many as anyone else.

    Vipotnik

There are a lot of attacking players who looked stifled and ineffective the way Williams was sending the team out to play. It'll be interesting to see what happens if Yates comes back because for me he was probably the first victim of it.

He's got something like a 50% win rate over his two stints as caretaker. He is absolutely a contender for the job on a permanent basis, and the fact that he's not playing tedious, self satisfied possession for the sake of it football should put him fairly high up the list.

    Trade Up

It is an interesting question. There were a lot of people who thought, earlier in the season, before the binfire that was Jan and most of Feb, that even though we were bumbling along quite nicely in mid table that Williams was underperforming with the squad he had, or at least some of the...

    Trade Up

LoB and Franco must be murder to play against. Always snapping at your heels. They're showing MG up like Downes did. I'd like to see the numbers for the amount of second balls that we're winning compared to previously with the more static, passive midfield that we had before.

I would like to see Eom more central. I don't think he has the pace to operate all that effectively out wide, but he may have what it takes to play that role.
