Season 23/24 | The Official Match Thread | Middlesbrough vs Swansea City | The EFL Championship

Curt's response sums mine up. Defenders didn't look bothered.

Season 23/24 | The Official Match Thread | Middlesbrough vs Swansea City | The EFL Championship

Centre half in Scotland iirc, came to us on trial as a defensive mid. Didn't play full back until seniors here.

Season 23/24 | The Official Match Thread | Middlesbrough vs Swansea City | The EFL Championship

Could drag Yates, Lowe, Pato and Fulton off at half time. Might as well not be playing.

"This team is building and growing" - Grimes says the Swans are showing progress

He does far too much diving, whinging and finger-pointing to be a captain for me.

    Nathan Wood Signs Contract Extension

Suggests he isn't willing to sign a new contract. Activating the existing extension clause a given in that case.

    Who stays who goes?

Well we're already throwing Govea on to try to get something out of games. Doubt any of those lads would consider it unfair to get a run out whatever the circumstances. They've all played vastly more football against grown men than Aimar has.

    Who stays who goes?

Hopefully there's a chance to give Lissah, Abdulai, Smith, Cotterill and Lloyd some senior opportunities before the end of the season. Get Josh Thomas on the pitch if he's back fit in time, Parker too. If our recruitment goes as badly as it did last summer we'll need some from that group to step...

Williams: "I feel like I am saying the same thing every week"

Fulton has always been an excellent trainer. Suspect Yates is the same. Some managers care more about the weekday performances than the Saturday afternoon. Dan James wouldn't have had a look-in with some of our recent managers.

    Aimar Govea

Not even really a standout performer for the u18s afaik. But players can develop at different rates, he's still very small. And coaches will see different things. Like Sam Parker potentially has that extra bit of pace that makes a huge difference in being ready for senior football at this level...

    Jerry Yates

People blame the stats with Yates but I can't for the life of me find any stats that would have recommended him.

Season 23/24 | The Official Match Thread | The Swans vs QPR | The EFL Championship | Easter Monday

Tymon was a standout today but anyone describing him as "consistently good" needs their memory checked. He's had his fair share of shockers even recently, despite improving over the course of the season. Only player in the squad who can cross a ball. We seem to have bought fullbacks who want to...

Season 23/24 | The Official Match Thread | The Swans vs QPR | The EFL Championship | Easter Monday

Missing the ball and falling over while your man keeps running is not good defending.

Season 23/24 | The Official Match Thread | The Swans vs QPR | The EFL Championship | Easter Monday

Wood is a clown. He's terrified of Armstrong's pace so is trying to dive in on him, made to look a fool twice now. Lucky the ref bailed him out.

Season 23/24 | The Official Match Thread | The Swans vs QPR | The EFL Championship | Easter Monday

Cooper's been better than Paterson's last two games, at least. Not a high bar to clear. Lowe offers next to nothing, and the less said about Yates the better at this point.

Season 23/24 | The Official Match Thread | Sheffield Wednesday v Swansea City | The EFL Championship | Good Friday

Govea didn't look out of place, but that's not saying anything is it.

Season 23/24 | The Official Match Thread | Sheffield Wednesday v Swansea City | The EFL Championship | Good Friday

Govea on the bench is a shock. He's barely had a kick at u21s yet.

    Wales v Poland

If Charlie wasn't a Savage he wouldn't be rated half as highly. As Page has mentioned before, his dad's always on the phone pushing. Dylan Levitt was far more highly regarded at Man Utd but he's now found his level in Scotland. Koumas and Charlie Crew are probably the best prospects we have...

    Wales v Poland

There's a lot of hope for our current group of 17-19 year olds to match what came before, bearing in mind that Connor, Joe and DJ didn't make senior breakthroughs until they were 21-22 and most Swans fans couldn't have picked them out of a lineup as teenagers.

    Kit Margetson

We've got better young keepers. Apart from his height and the family name I've never seen much in him.
