    Summer Transfer Window

I think in general, patience will be needed. On paper we have quite a tough start and it may take us 5-10 games to get going. Don’t think we can expect to just pick up the momentum of last year even if that’s what AS says he wants.

As soon as Leicester got involved it was always unlikely. Hope we have some other decent striker targets in mind.

    Summer Transfer Window

What we’ve seriously lacked in recent seasons is assets that we sell on to fund the team. We can go for those finished article type players once we get some money in from sales in the future. Look at the money Coventry made from Hamer and Gyokeres, we need to be doing these types of deals

I would have taken him to be honest but I’m not 100% convinced we were in for him

I’ve never thought of it like that before

    Summer Transfer Window

It is quite a big gamble to be honest, Kone has only had two seasons in the professional game and 4.5m is a lot for a player going into his final year. Lot of upside if it pays off though

    Summer Transfer Window

Having been on that board, I think Vital was more saying we should just move on due to the big money clubs involved, also doesn’t sound like he is in favour of the 4.5m price tag with only a year left. I don’t think it means the deal is 100% off but that Vital just thinks it would be worth...

    Bianchini

With Bianchini it’s clear that Sheehan didn’t rate him. His minutes dropped off massively after he took over. If he does well at championship level, we’ll be able to recoup or maybe even make a profit on him while we have good wing options of our own. I don’t see it as a big issue.

Good signings for the here and now. Will make sure they are at least a Championship side next season. Broadhead for 7.5m if true is a massive overpay for me though. Suppose Ipswich can ask for that though, being a parachute side.

    Summer Transfer Window

Been seeing that stuff this morning. Nothing official yet though. Even if we don’t get Kone in, we know we’ll be going for a striker who could be worth up to and around 5m so will hopefully be promising whoever comes in.

    Summer Transfer Window

I get the worry but we’ve been used to being quite frugal under the previous owners. I think we’ve been conditioned into thinking that there is no money to spend but if you structure deals cleverly you can do a lot. Lack of effort from the previous lot more than anything is my opinion.

    Summer Transfer Window

I don’t trust anyone out there for Swans transfer news apart from Vital Swansea and Tom Coleman. If those two say something, more often than not it’s accurate.

    Summer Transfer Window

Being reported by Graeme Bailey that we’ve made a couple of bids for Kone, the latest being 4.5m. If Wycombe are going to let him go for less than 5m, that’s about as high as anyone can go. Fingers crossed we can get this one done, be nice to have a new striker in for Boro.

    Summer Transfer Window

Do we normally see a flurry of early activity? I’m not saying you’re wrong because I haven’t looked at the dates for previous windows but I always remember us signing practically nobody in June, one or two in July and then mostly panic at the end of August. That’s obviously reductive but the...

    Summer Transfer Window

Tom Coleman confirming interest in Kone after originally touted by a Guardian journalist. 5m price reported makes me think it’s unlikely but doubt we would express interest if we knew we couldn’t do any kind of deal.

    Summer Transfer Window

I’m not convinced we were seriously in for McBurnie once we found out his wage demands and Poku would have been free. Looking at the deals we’ve done this summer, excluding Inoussa, they’ve been frees or minimal fees. Think that’ll make up the majority of what we do with maybe one more bigger...

    Summer Transfer Window

I seriously doubt we were ever in for him now. It was that Alan Nixon post that started a wave of rumours and people online just kept it going. The fact that there has been no word on transfers for a while has made people rabid for any scrap of info.

    Summer Transfer Window

Problem is, we haven’t really made any massive sales recently. For a club whose model is supposedly to buy low and sell high, the only “big” sales we’ve made in the last few seasons have been Downes and Piroe. We need to really focus on producing assets and selling them on so we can improve the...
