Season 25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Exeter City v Swansea City | Preseason Friendly | St James’ Park Exeter | 1pm (26.07.25)

Not for me personally, I’ve seen us play crap in preseason before against worse than league one and two teams (Richmond Kickers comes to mind). It has no bearing on the season ahead. Don’t get me wrong, if we’re 5, 10 games in and not creating and scoring, then I’d be worried but I’m not...

Season 25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Exeter City v Swansea City | Preseason Friendly | St James’ Park Exeter | 1pm (26.07.25)

Losing in preseason doesn’t matter in my opinion. The object isn’t to win those games

Season 25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Exeter City v Swansea City | Preseason Friendly | St James’ Park Exeter | 1pm (26.07.25)

Doesn’t matter, preseason is only really all about fitness and the players getting to know each other. Literally as I was typing this we’ve gone a goal down and it doesn’t matter. I get potential concerns but we only need to be worried if we see this consistently in league games.

Season 25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Exeter City v Swansea City | Preseason Friendly | St James’ Park Exeter | 1pm (26.07.25)

We know the way we played last season under Sheehan wasn’t boring most of the the time (I still think we could have played that Derby home game on the front foot). We just have to hope that the rest of the transfer market will be good for us. Sounded as if they were sitting back a bit so it...

    Ginnelly

Interesting, seems we still have a bit of money to spend then. Struggling to see where he fits though good to have that depth in midfield.

    Bruce Drops Yates Blackpool Hint

Something gotta be happening with Yates then, we’ve done okay with shifting players this summer fair play

Lewis O'Brien: Navigating the Crossroads – A Summer Transfer Dossier

Seen 3m on here and on X, also that Reddit post saying about personal terms. I’m not even sure we need him and I’ve said I don’t want us to shell out much for him, but I’ll be disappointed now if it doesn’t happen 😂

    Midfield Height

First time posting a thread so bear with me. Saw a fan of another Championship club on X or Twitter saying that our midfield combo will all be around 5”9 and that would be “interesting”. Seeing as we had O’Brien, Franco and Joe Allen as a midfield in the second half of last season (with Fults...

    This season

I would also have faith in those behind the scenes to act quickly if it did go wrong with us and Sheehan. Look at Coleman, only one poor window under their control and he’s gone despite being a shareholder. I just hope they won’t need to act and Sheehan is the right appointment.

Can Swansea City Mount a Serious Promotion Push in 2025/26?

Nobody really knows until the squad is set and we get about 15 games in, we should have a good idea of what we’re capable of by then. At the very least having a lined up structure and people at the club whose ambitions are to improve and not coast should give us a decent chance at finishing...

Swansea City: There's no "Wow" signing - or at least not for now...

Let’s be honest, Inoussa was a “wow” signing for us with the amount spent and Burgess having played PL football last season also qualifies. Any more like that and we can be happy.

    Tomas the Tank

I would argue Nuno was a poor fit for Spurs, his football is nothing like what Spurs fans expect/want. He was on a hiding to nothing unless he won the league which was realistically never going to happen. Could be the same with Frank, although he seems more adaptable as a coach.

    World Cup 2026 Qualifier | The Official Match Thread | Belgium 4 Wales 3 | Attendance: 33,653 (4,500 Cymru) | Monday 9th June 2025

Feels like we’ve approached this game giving them no respect and expecting it to be more or less even. They’re aging and they’ve lost a bit of quality but there is still an ocean of difference between us and them.

    Thomas Tuchel's England Revolution.

I’m definitely no fan of England but it’s difficult not to acknowledge the quality that they have now compared to when Hodgson was in charge. I think they should have won something by now though, might look back on this period as another golden generation wasted.

I think they’ve probably made the right decision as difficult as it would have been and I consider myself to be a fan of Postecoglu. Shades of ten Hag and Utd post FA Cup for me.

    Ollie McBurnie

For me, McBurnie is often mischaracterised as a target man, think that’s why he never quite got on with SU’s style of play. If we continue to play like we did at the end of the season, he would definitely fit the high pressing profile that we’d need. He’d get on the end of some of the crosses...
