We need to be getting better money for players than we have been the past few years. I can see 15 being a fair amount, think he’ll need to contribute a fair amount of g/a to justify anything higher. Disgusting that Orient lost him for only 1.5m

How much do we reckon Galbraith sells for? As let’s be honest he isn’t going to be here past this season. Wharton sold for 20m to Palace. Looking at him we have to get a similar price, would be a Hell of a profit from 1.5m outlay.

It’s funny as a lot of criticism from the weekend came of the fact that we made subs and got weaker, didn’t look the case tonight!

I usually agree with the 10+ game thing but I was just using it to illustrate that it’s easier to dispel doubts about the manager when we aren’t struggling down the bottom. I’d say the same for end of last season when we were doing well under him after he kept us up.

Agree re the Derby home game, I still think he approached that game too negatively, we would have won easier if we set up to play that day. With the Preston game it was his second game in charge in that spell and first away so I’d put that down to teething problems. I remember us being unlucky...

Our play wasn’t boring under Sheehan last season, not possession based per se but it wasn’t unentertaining to watch in my opinion. We’ve not been boring this season either, we’re not struggling to move the ball, or to compete in games, we’re just a bit reticent in the final third at the moment...

    Ronald

It was a bit strange how reluctant we were to get the ball in considering we had 6”3 Idah in the box. I don’t blame Ronald for it though, the whole team seemed to lose a step in the last 20, there was a general lack of contrition to our play imo.

He’s the kind of player that when he’s outside the box you want to play it into his feet but as soon as he’s in the box he’s got that instinct to get on the end of it. I wasn’t sure he could go up a gear last season but he’s proving me wrong this year. His all round game seems much better this...

There is always that angle too, we have been clinical which I think we missed at times last season. All in all we’re in a pretty decent place and for the most part we have a solid defence to build from.

What’s worrying to me isn’t just today’s performance but in all of the league games so far (except Sheffield Wednesday for obvious reasons) we haven’t created many chances. Our XG is second lowest in the league at around 4 and we’ve scored 6. We won’t be able to out perform that all season...

This is my worry, we aren’t creating many chances. Hull created numerous, 5 more mins and they win that game. Worrying in attack for me at times.

    Grimes...

I take your point and agree in the work context but this is competitive sport. A manager isn’t going to play a player just because, we all know their jobs are too precarious for that. I just feel there are far too many knives out for Grimes. A player that would get into most teams at this...

    Grimes...

But that’s a style difference no? I don’t remember Grimes coming in for the stick he did under Cooper when we were playing a counter attacking direct style (that was ultimately just as boring as anything else we’ve seen recently) Put Galbraith in a Russell Martin team and he comes in for the...

    Grimes...

I must say I don’t understand the Grimes hate, it’s false to claim he was the sole reason we have been a boring and laboured side over the past few years. That’s down to general recruitment and managerial decisions in my opinion. I think the way he exited didn’t help things but it’s obvious...

    Grimes...

Grimes was never the problem for me. He just did what was required of him by the managers that trusted him. It was our style of play under RM and LW that required much better players that made us frustrating and boring to watch. Rangers fans saying similar, even in that league. I think the...

This is something we’re going to need to get used to if we’re to become the ambitious club we want to be. It’s a good test for the owners, can they replace with someone just as effective?

    Žan Vipotnik - Swansea’s Number 9

Hope Sheehan sticks with Zan. Idah will be looking to play every game but we can’t ignore this current form from Vipotnik!

    Galbraith

Reckon we’ll lose him next summer, he’s going to get near double figures for both goals and assists when everything clicks. Someone like Palace will snap him up. It will be interesting to see if he does go, how much money we’ll get because we’ve not sold a ‘star’ player under these owners yet...

    Raising Funds

Surely getting the academy back to Cat 1 will be high on the list, would end up paying for itself eventually if managed correctly.

    POLL: where will we finish?

I think based on what we’ve seen under Sheehan both this season and last, we know we’ll be half decent defensively and be able to pick up points both home and away. I think lack of goals could potentially be an issue if VPs form ends and Idah doesn’t hit the ground running. Going with 9th, I...
