The January 2026 Transfer Window Thread

Wonder if we’ll go for that Leo Walta, our interest has been confirmed by the player himself. Not seen much of him but scored 16 for Sirius. Would be a welcome boost to goals from the midfield. I know there is scepticism about our overseas recruitment but it’s always a lottery isn’t it.

    Bazball football

I would put any lack of control at the moment down to confidence, we have had very little of it recently. Matos has said we want to control games and I think we’ll see that in time. We’re also not holding on to the ball for the sake of it which means we’re probably going to give it away a bit...

We didn’t have full control of the game but we’ve not had many games under Matos to work on that. I’m sure we’ll see more control, especially in home games. Important that we build up confidence at the moment, control will come when we do that.

The Vigouroux save with his legs and that driving shot of theirs that he had to save near the end will do most of the work for their XG. Ours was low because the only clear cut chance we had was the Stamenic goal. Tymon goal was one in a million. Doesn’t mean we couldn’t have scored more though...

I get what you’re saying, we’ve been poor at chance creation all season and we still aren’t great at it. However, I think we’ll improve on that looking at us today, we already looked more threatening.

Glancing header from Vipotnik in the first half too, keeper scrambled to get across, just went wide.

Better on and off the ball today, really encouraged by the fight shown from all of our players, they looked like they wanted to be there. Matos is clearly motivating them. Need to make it count and win on Tuesday now though. Feels like we can’t let a game go by without scoring a banger this...

    Boro

Not saying we’d have played good football and won by 4 every week had we got Hellberg in but it is frustrating. We always seem close to being on the right track before something inevitably goes wrong.

    Matos’ Staff in Swansea

We can’t blame the club for the Brexit process. We can absolutely blame them for knowing that they’d have to go through this process and appointing somebody anyway. Matos seems like a knowledgeable guy and I think he’s got the right idea, but no point bringing someone in without the tools to...

    New manager assistants

We’ve not had reliable communication since Birch. It seems a rare commodity in football now.

    New manager assistants

Yes, it really wouldn’t surprise me. We’ve gotta have some news coming soon.

    New manager assistants

That Wales Online article yesterday sounded a bit more hopeful. I don’t remember things ever taking this long but thinking about it, the last few appointments we’ve made have been domestic and it’s likely we’ve not had to go through the process as much.

    Idah

I don’t think he’s quite as good at creating his own chances as someone like Piroe but we knew when we signed him he wasn’t the most mobile player. It’s my opinion but I can’t blame him for not being as involved at times when we push everything out wide. The only times we do anything centrally...

    Idah

Disagree on Vipotnik, he is more than good enough for me. We offer him absolutely nothing in the way of chances. I watch him and I think his overall game has improved exponentially from last year, his one touch hold-up play and lay offs have been vital to any play we have through the middle this...

We're in a relegation battle - pros and cons of booing the players

Our defence issues are what worry me the most. 3 of the 4 defenders we play regularly finished 11th last season along with the same keeper in Vigs. Burgess is no slouch either. Even though that same defence conceded a lot under Williams at times, they can’t be as bad as they’re showing us.

We're in a relegation battle - pros and cons of booing the players

I agree with you about running into the ground. Effort is a basic requirement of an athlete in any sport and players these days earn more than enough to meet that requirement. However, I don’t think they’re purposefully dropping levels after 20 mins. It’ll be down to general fitness and...

Vitor Matos on West Bromwich Albion | Reaction

End of the day, he’s not going to have had that much influence on his two games so far. Can only do what he can without his coaches too (can’t believe we haven’t got them in straight away). I still think we’ve got enough to get out of this situation but we have to start picking up results.

Disgrace! Club and Players - We Are Going Down!!

Wasn’t able to watch the game today but heard outside of the goals we were outplayed. Worrying times but at least we seem to have one or two goals in us still, if we can build up some confidence in the defence, we may just get out of this situation. The next week is huge. Have to get the back...

    Leo Walta

Idah aside, we haven’t signed anyone that has scored near that amount of goals recently. Wouldn’t say no.

Vitor Matos pre West Bromwich Albion | Press Conference

Speaks excellently and has identified a lot of our problems, just needs to prove he can execute his plan now. We have to get him his back room staff as quickly as we can. Squad realistically has enough in it to avoid relegation.
