    S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea City 1 Portsmouth 0 | Att: 18,163 | 09/12/25 | The EFL Championship | The Swansea.com Stadium

The only important thing this week was turning the tide of 5 straight defeats. We’ve won twice in three days. Job done. Second half was messy, but looked pretty solid at the back. Great strike from Cullen. A couple of glimpses from Inoussa. Yalcouye looked poor. Definitely better since...

I’m not saying he is Michu… I just don’t think Vipotnik has moved for about five games.

To be fair, he could be prime Pep and you would claim he was crap. Give him a chance. The stuff he’s in charge of, line up, tempo, pressing, getting forward more quickly isn’t the problem. The problem is our players aren’t very good.

Good energy, good press, decent tempo, looking to get forward quickly. It’s just our players aren’t very good. I thought it was quite an entertaining half though. Hopefully we can find more accuracy second half.

Vitor on the problem of his coaches.

Brexit as ‘the concept it was promised as’ (sic) was not delivered because it was impossible. It was a pack of lies sold to people who were desperate to improve their lives and out of that desperation listened to the wrong people. It was obvious beforehand and is even more obvious now, which...

Vitor on the problem of his coaches.

Brexit is to blame in that there would be no requirement for work permits for Portuguese staff without Brexit- there was freedom of movement. Brexit is not to blame for ranking various world football leagues and choosing which ones are valid in providing work experience that counts towards...

    Idah

I was beginning t9 think I was going mad, so I’m glad I’m not the only one! Vipotnik has a fabulous shot and has been better this season (he looks fitter) but he is still way short of what we should have as our starting centre forward. Idah will, in my opinion, turn out to be a far better all...

I think it’s one of those situations where Galbraith is our best midfielder yet the midfield is better as a whole when he is at right back. He, Stamenic and Franco get in each others way a lot whereas today it allowed all of them to play.

“We can't look to continue with Galbraith at RB as he offers much more in midfield. I don't think we need to have anything special at RB, we just need someone who is solid defensively.” I completely disagree I’m afraid. Full back is one of the most important roles in the way we are trying to...

I didn’t think it was anything like we’ve played under Sheehan to be honest. Attitude was very different for me.

Yep. Don’t try and you don’t get. The Tymon goal was a case in point. It just felt we were willing to have a pop. There were a couple of occasions where there was a better option (Eom had a go when he cut in when others were in space) but I won’t blame him as sometimes it will come off, or...

Huge three points. Great games from quite a few today, Eom, Franco, best games in ages. More solid at the back. Liked the formation. Biggest plus for me was there had obviously been instructions to the wide men to take on their players, and instructions to the whole team to have a shot...

Way Down By The Sea, new Swansea City Podcast - Tonight from 5pm

I just think there is absolutely no one who has any experience of managing a football club. We have a commercial manager plus someone whose expertise is in data analysis and market making managing the club. This fiasco with the coaching staff is symptomatic of the problem. As soon as their...

Way Down By The Sea, new Swansea City Podcast - Tonight from 5pm

If those in charge of the club put a faction of the effort into the playing side as they do into ‘monetising the brand’ we may be slightly less in danger of disappearing down the plug hole into the lower leagues and we may have some coaching staff. Get someone in who knows something about...
