More entertaining than the Wales game for sure 😅

Agreed. Obviously if we win the next 3 then happy days and we’re off to North America, but they’ll have have play much better in at least 1 or 2 or those games.

Pretty unrecognisable from those first few games of the Nations League 12 months ago. International football is all about results but for someone (Bellamy) who talks a lot about performances they’ve gone miles backwards.

Yeah, I think it’s harsh to blame him and the staff for that one. Was a stupid challenge 2 minutes after scoring.

Ampadu a bit unlucky there but it’s such naive management to have not subbed him when he already knows Jordan James is out.

Like to see him challenged defensively but he does look a very assured. Needs a move to the Championship in January!

That’s definitely my worry and ditto for the playoffs. Wilson will obviously help on Tuesday night

Really hard watch this (not unlike most Saturday’s this season). Only positive so far is that 0-0 or 5-0 makes no difference to what’s needed on Tuesday night. Can’t be good for confidence being unable to break down this side though.

Just realised that Johnson is on the bench! Shows what little impact he’s had recently that I’d forgotten about him 🤦‍♂️

Probably had one of the toughest 3rd & 4th seeds (especially defensively) in our group but also had a Belgian side that we could (and possibly should) have taken points off given the fact they’ve won 1 out of 4 against North Macedonia & Kazakhstan

Not many other options with the team but I’d take a comfortable 2-0 win now. No chance of the 6+ needed to take us above North Macedonia IMO.

Away from the managerial circus for a moment

No idea, but if they’re usually scheduled during international windows have we postponed some if we have players in the Wales U19s/U21s? 5 does seem a lot after 3 months though!

Sadly it appears that Poland will be above us even with 2 wins (by around 1-2 ranking points). Maybe the choice of the England friendly will bite us after all. All Iceland fans now! It’s like 2016 all over again 😅

It’s not the only hope, but it’s probably the most likely, Iceland not losing to Ukraine and finishing second on Sunday would also do it. There probably are other permutations still but they’re the most straight forward IF we win both games.

    Socially Distant Sports Bar Podcast

Part 2 of this weeks podcast with Elis James & Charlie Baker (Torquay fan) has a 10-15 minute clip about the playoff final second leg in 1987/88. Too young to have gone to the away game but remember the home games against them and rotherham. Good listen and nice memories for those of you who...

    SHEEHAN SACKED

Hard to argue with this. All the others (prior to Sheehan) had relative success in their managerial career prior to joining, albeit at lower levels. Maybe we’ve not been going left field enough in our appointments of late!

Totally understand the reservations as I had some but as time went on last season it became harder for them to make any other decision. Clearly it was a mistake based on this seasons performances and recent results. However, I don’t think it’s a stick to beat the owners/board with or any...

If it was a handful of games I’d agree. But his 2 caretaker spells lasted almost half a season between them. That’s a pretty big sample size when you look at the average length of a time a manager lasts in the Championship. I’m not sure comparing Alan Tate’s 70 minute clean sheet where he...

Thanks. A big change in career then. I guess nobody (apart from those working closely with him) knows exactly what his role is, as recruitment departments seem to vary so much from club to club. Having no knowledge of him on here or in person I wish him well and hope that we're all discussing...

What is his football background prior to joining the Swans. Seems unusual to jump straight in at Head of recruitment level at a Championship club (or has he been at the club for a while in scouting/data roles)?
