    S25/26 | The Official MATCH Thread | Southampton 0 Swansea 0 | Att: 27,265 | 18th Oct | The EFL Championship | St Mary’s Stadium

There’ll obviously be changes over the next two games this week but I think he does know ‘his’ best XI and it’s the team that started today. 8 of the 11 have started either 9 or 10 league games. Add Stamenic and Vipotnik who’ve started 7 of the last 8 matches (I think) and you’re left with...

    Nottingham Forest sack their manager

Dyche (assuming it is him) will probably keep them up this season, but despite an excellent season last year it never looked to be built on as solid a foundation as the likes of Brighton and Bournemouth. All bar a handful of clubs are only a few bad decisions away from being in relegation...

    Alan Sheehan.

I can't see him being sacked either, unless it was a horrendous run this side of Xmas. We really do need to see an improvement in performances and some wins at home in this next run of games though.

Always take a point away from home - especially when dominated that much. Really need to see something in terms of creativity and improved performances over these next 5 games before the November break though.

The bigging up of Ethan Galbraith

Was discussed on the Totally Football podcast this afternoon so it’s safe to say his performances for club and country have not gone unnoticed further afield.

    QPR Fixture

Since all the games have been available on Sky Sports+ I think they've tried to split the Championship fixtures over the two nights. I'd imagine it's partly to try and maximise viewing figures but more down to spreading of resources - commentators, camera operators etc.

    The Senedd Election 2026

You're lucky you didn't watch the full hour! Although in fairness, many people's first appearance on live TV is pretty cringeworthy, whether in entertainment, sport or politics - doesn't excuse the lack of substance but they probably deserve a pass over hesitating and stumbling over words at times.

    Galbraith

If we’re mid-table at the end of the season, I’d be surprised if it’s not a Flynn Downes situation and it’s one season and sold. Would be a real shame as the midfield has real potential to be around for a good few years.

    The Senedd Election 2026

It’s a hard one to win people over with because as you say that’s a very good wage. However, if you want someone qualified to run health, education etc then I’m not sure that’s the type of salary that would attract many with the experience you’d want. Definitely no guarantees though. I though...

    The Senedd Election 2026

Controversial view but it’s partly because they’re not paid enough. If you want to get people at the top of their field you have to give them a reason to go into politics. As part of that, they shouldn’t be allowed to hold any other jobs/consultancy roles whilst in office though.

    The Senedd Election 2026

If anyone’s watching the Caerphilly debate it’s going to be a hard watch to get through an hour of it!

Swans' representatives in World Cup Finals

I think Ki went to 2014 and 2018? Two Swedish in 2018 - you've got one in Olsson. Forgot about Ntcham in 2022

    In the Cardiff slums.

Thought exactly the same after realising what they were chasing after the game last night 😂

Swans' representatives in World Cup Finals

Wonder if he’ll have more World Cup appearances than games for the Swans this year! Good quiz question following on from that… Swans players who played at the World Cup whilst on our books. Four in 2014, four in 2018 and two in 2022 from what I can find. Obviously a few in 1958 for Wales too...

    The Senedd Election 2026

Isn’t tactical voting all but impossible with the new system. It’s pretty much nailed on that reform will get at least 1 of the 6 seats in each of the 16 constituencies - the only question is going to be in how many of them they’ll get a second and third seat. Only two things will impact that...

    World Cup 2026 Qualifier | The Official Match Thread | Cymru 2 Belgium 4 | Att: 32,803 | 13/10/25 | The Cardiff City Stadium

I think that’s maybe just his natural body language as he seems to get the same criticism at Spurs. His impact on games has been extremely disappointing though (almost 50 caps?) and can understand why he was left out tonight.

    World Cup 2026 Qualifier | The Official Match Thread | Cymru 2 Belgium 4 | Att: 32,803 | 13/10/25 | The Cardiff City Stadium

A lot of that is spot on but I’m not sure about getting comprehensively beaten out there looking at lots of the teams who are going to qualify from some of the other continents. The weather will be a factor in some venues but I’d be very surprised if practically all the European teams don’t...

    World Cup 2026 Qualifier | The Official Match Thread | Cymru 2 Belgium 4 | Att: 32,803 | 13/10/25 | The Cardiff City Stadium

I’d agree with that - I wouldn’t be making knee jerk reactions after March either way though. No matter what happens in these next 3/4 games and Nations League A next Autumn I’d stick with him for the Euros we were pretty much certain to be there as hosts. I do understand the thinking behind...
