I’m shocked I tell ya. Shocked! Who’d have thought he’d carry on faking a career?

    Goal Scorers 25/26

Ronald’s started really well, which has surprised me. A lack of threat from both him and Eom was a big part of our goal drought last year. It can’t all be on the striker. Nobody fills me with a lot of confidence. Cullen best of a bad bunch. Hopefully someone like Widell can find his shooting...

    Malick Yalcouye

Quite. A few training sessions with Fulton and he’ll soon be passing backwards at ever opportunity 👍🤣 (I couldn’t make the match, but he sounds very promising. Brighton fans are surprised he was sent out on loan apparently).

Sadly, I agree. I’d like to give Vip more time, but how much time does he need? At least Cullen does chip in with a reasonable amount of goals. Ideally we need better than both, but good strikers seem to be very hard to find. Mind you, with Ronald’s deliveries anyone’s going to struggle up top!

Watch his runs. He’s always about 2 yards away from where he needs to be. He’s had a whole year and nothing’s changed, which is why we’re having to start with Cullen even though he’s not suited to the lone striker role. I’d like him to find his feet and you’re right about limited chances/needing...

Yeah, nothing’s really changed. We’ve st Yep, seems like a reasonable assessment. It was square pegs in round holes today and ended up reverting to safe passing into centre mid and then back to the CBs again, leaving the only option for Burgess to try and ping long balls that our up front...

That was like a Luke Williams performance, albeit slightly more solid at the back. Expected goals 0.09 🤣, not that we need stats to know we could be there until next Sat and still not threaten them. A lot of work needed on the training ground.

The Striker Conundrum: Swansea Walk Away from Kone and Search for New Attacking Identity

It’s easy to get a bit down about it because we’ve had so many poor windows in recent years. In defence of the club, every man and his dog are looking for strikers. Even Ipswich haven’t been able to get one in yet and they can offer silly money on fees and wages. I don’t think the window...

    Swansea documentary in the works

Let’s hope they’re better at documentaries than running a football club lol! It’s not for me, but each to their own.

Season 25/26 | The official Match Thread | Swansea City vs FC Lorient | Preseason Friendly | The Swansea.com Stadium | 3pm, Saturday 2nd August 2025

I said last night on another thread that I think he’s the wrong type of player in the wrong system at the wrong time. In a 442 next to a good, strong number 9 he’d be banging them in for fun. There’s no way we’re switching to a 442. Oh, and we haven’t got a good number 9! He’s not bad, but...

Season 25/26 | The official Match Thread | Swansea City vs FC Lorient | Preseason Friendly | The Swansea.com Stadium | 3pm, Saturday 2nd August 2025

That’s what we needed. I didn’t watch the second half but it sounded like we upped the tempo and were better for it. We haven’t had many proper tests against good teams in pre-season, so maybe that first half was a reality check we needed. Get our injured players back and I’m sure we’ll be...

We let a better player go in Jerry Yates, but he was crap as well 🤣 Cullen/VIP? Doesn’t really matter, neither has much impact.

Season 25/26 | The official Match Thread | Swansea City vs FC Lorient | Preseason Friendly | The Swansea.com Stadium | 3pm, Saturday 2nd August 2025

I don’t think that’s an overreaction because that’s how football works these days. He did really well last season with a poor squad, so deserved his chance imo. The squad’s not got much better, and it’s even thinner which is killing us. We’ll see but it’s looking like it’ll be a slog again and...

    Wrecsam

Doesn’t really matter how many Welsh players they have (although it looks like they might be adding another in Broadhead). Those Hollywood owners have done more to promote the Welsh language and culture than many Welsh people have. So fair dos to them I say. It’s a bit ott for me, but they still...

    Bianchini

I’d certainly agree they’re constrained. I suppose in fairness it looks like things have improved a bit in the last 12 months, with Franco being good, Eom ok, Burgess should be very good. We did seem to have a run of poor signings before that who we wasted money on. Hopefully that’s...

It’s a crazy position to be in and shows how rubbish our recruitment has been. Unless we’re so deluded we genuinely think we’ll challenge the big teams this year and need promotion quality players. Otherwise why loan out players to teams close to our level when we’re short of players as it is...

The Swiss Ramble - Swansea City Finances 2023/24 ...

As an aside, it’s crazy how Leeds can comply with PSR rules. That’s a £61 million loss in 23/24 and a reported likely £42 million loss for 24/25 (tbc). They posted a loss of about £34 million in their relegation season in 22/23 too. It makes a mockery of the rules that allow 3-yr cumulative...

    Should we be concerned?

We're poor, that seems to be the crux of it. Take Ipswich for example during their promotion season in 23/24, they had a turnover of over £37 million. Ours was £21.5 million. That's a club in their first season after coming up from L1 and we can't get close to competing. Smaller ground, crap...

    Should we be concerned?

In fact, everything that we knew was an issue from the start of two summer ago. ^ I’ve just done a mansplaning correction 🤣 I’m mildly concerned. That we’re having to use Fulton as an emergency CB before the season starts and have no cover in midfield and no quality up front is a bit of a...
