O'Dea - Reason For Our Downfall?

A few weeks ago I laughed off the suggestion of people putting blame on O'Dea as I thought they were only using it to find any excuse for Sheehan. But after yesterday's performance and especially the substitutions I'm starting to believe he is 100% more to blame then I thought. The subs felt...

    Relegation? Should We Be Worried?

We're a relegation team in all but name. Underlying numbers has us in the bottom 3 and the performances support that. The confidence and psychology of the team is bottom 3 worthy aswell. There's not one aspect of our play which you can cling onto to get us out of a relegation fight. I said...

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

The whole right hand side has to be fixed. If I see Ronald even coming off the bench by the 1st of February its been another disaster window simple as. He's been here 2 yrs now and he's got to be the worst winger I've had the displeasure of watching. His only trick is to put his head down and...

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

O'Dea was doing the same fugazi made-up job at Celtc as Matos was doing at Liverpool. Head of pathway development whatever shit they made up to give them a job. If he's even remotely similar to what I just saw (got to be some of the worst substitutions I've seen in football), we will be in...

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

He has helped its been documented that hes aided in the recruitment and retention of players a lot. But he's still got a playing career he can't be sat there 24/7 worrying about us appointing a dof and nor should he. He is only a minority owner at the end of the day.

Theres not any who would play the way a majority of us fans want.

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

Surely this fiasco will now kick them into gear and make them rethink their decision not to have a dof. Always strange to me that they get rid of Montague but then chase after his main managerial target. Too many egos in the club who need to be brought down a peg.

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

Why would Modric care. He still plays consistently he doesnt have time to actually run a football club. Hes just there to call potential players thats basically it.

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

Im buzzing that it looks like it isn't happening to be completely honest, but the fact this is 3rd time in a row were gonna be looking for a manager for over a month is frankly embarrassing. To take so long and to get it so wrong every time is an achievement in itself

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

Agreed I said this on another thread. This appointment has to be based on the recommendation from an agent or someone inside of football. He wasnt on our shortlist last time and it can't be data based because he's only managed 12 games in a very poor league.

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

Can't say I'm an avid watcher of the Portugese 2nd division but would it be fair to say the conference is a better quality division then it? I don't particularly rate the Portuguese 1st division beside the obvious big 4 teams the rest of the league is high lg1/very low championship level.

    Kim Hellberg

I can't be the only one who feels like this appointment has absolutely nothing to with data that they claim to use. Hellberg, I could understand he had data to support him, and the logic was definitely there. Matos wasn't even on the shortlist when we were looking after LW sacking. So what have...

Is it a miracle to expect after 15mill spent to upgrade on more then one position??

Its not exactly hard to look "organised" with the windows we've had in the past. Was it organised or was it just better then the awful windows we had before? ST and RW, Grimes + O'Brien + Darling replacement were the most important positions we needed to address. Grimes was replaced with...

Grateful for the money they've put in. I'll give them credit for that. But they are showing the same levels of incompetence (if not even worse) as the last lot just this time it's actually more damaging to us because of the amount of money they put in. This appointment is make or break.

This is a big call from the owners. In my eyes, they're under serious pressure to get some big decisions right. They took over last winter, and since then they haven't made the right call on any big transfer window/managerial appointment/managerial sacking. If this goes wrong (obviously I hope...

To play devils advocate here alot of managers have done very well with no managerial "experience" Pep, Arteta, McKenna, Carrick, Rosenoir, Chris Davies just to name a few off the top of my head. Ofcourse there's loads which have gone the other way. You don't have to be a number one to be...

Sheehan wasn't supposed to be an experiment. He was the safe pair of hands in their eyes. Helberg was the experiment and so is this Matos.

We were linked to him when we were looking at Helberg the first time. It wouldn't suprise me if we revisited it.
