I lived in Tooting as a student-Undine Street near Broadway Station. Nearly 40 years ago now!

Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea City 3 Blackburn Rovers 0 | Att: 13,788 | The EFL Championship

Played rugby in Sunderland at university in the 80s. Pretty grim. Also stayed in a yurt at Gibside just south of Newcastle which was lovely. The Northumberland coast is stunning and very unlike South or west Wales. We had a week in a cottage in Alnmouth which is a great base with a lovely...

Swansea City 3-0 Blackburn Rovers – Your player ratings

Would pretty much agree with everything. Really thought O’Brien made us tick. Nice to see the CM passing forward and retrieving when lost. Wide players taking on their man. Centre forward holding the ball up and harassing defenders. Simple really

    Trump 2.0

China will be loving this. Dismantling of USAID takes away much of their soft power in Africa giving China free rein to exploit the continent's development. There was massive Chinese investment in Ethiopia when I worked there. Already using African labour as cheaper again than China.

    Data in football

Which is still data but qualitative rather than quantitative. It's harder to model which is why it's less fashionable. Just using quantitative data often leads to mistakes. McDonalds is the largest restaurant chain in the world by number of outlets and sales. Using those datasets may suggest...

I prefer the later more pastoral and psychedelic stuff. The stuff they did from Skylarking (1986) until calling a day with the two Apple Venus LPs in early 2000s. They did some out and out 1960s psychedelic pastiche records as the 'Dukes of Stratosfear" as well. I like the earlier stuff too.

Only Top 10 hit for the Swindon Beatles. Off the wonderful 'English Settlement' LP. I'm a bit of a fan.

Would seem to have been one of the u21 and u18 coaches 2013-2017. Moved to Chelsea and the United as u23s coach and promoted to support the first team. Good reputation for player development. Looks to have done a sound job at Minnesota. May even big Dennis Lawrence -one of his current...

A decent full back who could defend. Could never understand that one. Or much of Martin's decisions really.

I'm fan so biased, but this is great. First series narrated by Maxine Peak and ably replaced by Elizabeth Alker for the second. It's a good social record of 1976-1990 too...

    Le Coq Sportif

Some nice Rugby Kits too. Not least the Newport RFC 'Porn' kit. The combination of Le Coq and the sponsor logo of a Beaver (Robert Price Builder's Merchants) on their mid-90s away shirt brought much mirth.

    Tariffs

Already 100% tariffs on Chinese cars. Will just dominate rest of world-plenty of MGs already around. American cars have quality issues and dogs to drive. The tariffs are clearly against VAG and BMW. Either way they are going to cause inflation and the US will not be able to produce goods...

Captain Grimes on his way to Coventry City?

I should add-despite the 'Hollywood' money, Wrexham are another example of where as much focus has been on infrastructure development as the team-though always useful when your or family companies (Aviation Gin, Betty Buzz etc.) are involved in sponsorship-which is arguably where City's...

Captain Grimes on his way to Coventry City?

It's not that weird, as despite the Abu Dhabi money, they are run better than most clubs, have a better and arguably sustainable infrastructure and an academy that generates both players and money-Palmer, Delap, Olise and Sancho sold for more than 70 million and plenty more (like Celina) for...

    Sheffield Utd after Harry Darling?

In fairness to John Bond we went into receivership and came back from the dead the next season. Did a remarkable job in keeping us up after the disaster of Colin Appleton's tenure. That Friday night game with Rimmer's heroics was one of the best nights down at the old girl.
