Still a cracking bit of business.

Picture this scenario. RM turns things around from this point onwards, takes us to within a few points of the playoff spots, does enough to attract premier league interest like Potter did, says cheery bye bye, leaving us at the drawing board like groundhog bleeding day. Would that still be a cracking bit of business compared to giving him the old heave ho a bit sooner, getting old Russell Hobbs in a bit sooner, and getting those extra few points needed in this scenario?

OK, a bit far fetched, but it's within the realms. What I'm saying is, we'll judge how good this business is at the end of the season, when we know how good a decision it's been to dig our heels in to save every penny on Cooper at the expense of having a proper preparation for the season.

It’ll be fine. When we get compo for Russ we can go all out and get John Eustace. :|

Saying he’s always played attacking creative football 😂😂

Big club though and good opportunity for him to be fair.

Big blow for him already

Unless you have a very public shit show like we did with Eustace, surely every club claims their new manager was 'always their first choice'. I wonder how many times it's actually true.

If he was that’s a fair old fall for such a club. He makes Billy Davies look like Brian Clough.

I couldn't watch more than 30 seconds... Made me queasy.

By the law of averages , forest have to have a successful manager sometime
Forest have a very wealthy owner, if he backs Cooper he could be one

He's got them off the bottom of the table without even being in charge for a single match, legend!

I think it shows largely that every source that was throwing around figures of how much compensation we would get was largely just using figures without any real substance to it - first reports were £3m, then £2m, then £1.3m, then £1.2m and it looks like a settlement of £500k

A piece of business very badly handled by Mr Winter

Looks like a good fit there. Egos to match.

Have a feeling he'll probably keep them up.

What is all this "only British name on shortlist" s**t?

Seemed clear to me, and it's for the same reason that a team may start a match with no British player in their line-up. Owners consider British managers and coaches to be technically inferior to foreign managers, and they may be correct. I can't think of any other reason why British managers and coaches were not on the Nottingham Forest shortlist.

Spare a thought for his wife, she might have to put up with him more often. It's only a two hour drive from Wrexham, so he might do the daily commute.

On a serious note, not having Martyn Margetson is a serious blow. Take Margetson and players of the quality of Ayew, Guehi and Roberts out of the equation and we would have finished nowhere near to where we did.
