• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Ivor Allchurch is arguably the greatest footballer in the history of Swansea City Football Club and one of the very best to have played for Wales.

‘Ivor Allchurch – Golden Days’ is a new documentary that features in depth interviews with Ivor’s wife, Esme, and sons, John and David where the film gives – for the first time – the human story of the humble man behind the legend from those who knew him best.

Featuring personal stories and never before seen photos from the extensive family archive, it’s a story of incredible achievement underlined by a genuine humility and grounded respect for others which gives a unique insight into the life and career of this most gifted of footballers whose many achievements in the 1950’s and 60’s still stand to this day.

The film was commissioned by the Swansea City Supporters’ Trust and was made by David Brayley and Max Webborn, two of the three filmmakers behind the critically acclaimed football film, ‘Wonderland – The Alice Street Story’ (2023).

Thanks to the kind support and co-operation of the Swansea Jack and Swansea City Football Club we are delighted to confirm the next ‘Ivor Allchurch – Golden Days’ screening will be held at 7.00pm on Thursday 26th February in the Swansea Jack, Little Wind Street, Swansea.

We are also being joined by members of the Allchurch family and Mal Pope has also kindly agreed to come along and help us host the evening to include a Q&A session after the film concludes.

The evening is completely free to attend but online booking in advance is required HERE

Members of the Swansea City Former Players’ Association and some Club legends have also been invited along for what we are sure will be a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Drinks are available all evening including the recently launched Golden Boy lager and food can also be ordered from the Swansea Jack online menu HERE

If anyone has any questions, please email us at info@swanstrust.co.uk

Thank you / Diolch
