Phew.....managed to keep em from drawing...Nice 3 points . Well fine lads..

A week to recharge our batteries now before another away trip to Burnley.

Piroe looked knackered after like 30 minutes and in that second half couldn't trap a bag of cement.
A few others looked tired too after two long midweek away trips.

Watching the highlights Darling got done by the bounce for their goal, completely misread it.

Not the most convincing performance but 3 points is all that matters. A weeks break now after 3 tough games in the last 7 days. Tough game at Burnley next week but absolutely no reason we can’t get anything out of it.

Where the f**k did they get 6 minutes from, officials are bent,

According to the Sunderland forum it's because of our cynical time-wasting. They agree that the ref must be bent, and wonder how much we've paid him. And our 22 is a thug.

So nothing new there. They also can't stand Lee Trundle's voice. :D

"They also can't stand Lee Trundle's voice"

I've got some sympathy with them on that point

3 wins in a week, magnificent.
Fck all in this league, has the penny dropped with us that we now realise it.
Should have been at least 3 up at half time....they were always gonna come at us first 20 after the break.
Oko flex ( if that's his fckn name) was great when he came on...made a right nuisance of himself and like some have said..Piroe looked knackered. On the plus side wer winning and he's not scoring...will shirley come good soon.
Excellent atmosphere...enjoyable afternoon.
The scum game taking on more importance by the week!!

We'll play better than that and lose this season. We probably did against Sheff Utd.

We were the better side in the first half but odd as it sounds with a 2-0 lead we didn't really make the most of it. There were loads of gaps appearing and we just didn't seem to want to exploit them. It underlined the fact that the team lacks pace and Piroe really struggles upfront without someone like Paterson behind him. A lone striker he is not.

Second half Sunderland tightened up, put us right under the press (more the second ball press) and we looked wobblier than a Russian bridge. We had no out ball until Oba came on and spent far too long trapped in our own final third. Not sure if I'd have made the same tactical choices that RM did. Latibeaudiere is not a RWB under any circumstances.

Still, a valuable three points and a battling performance overall. Good to pick up a win even when we weren't at our best, and Mowbray sides are rarely mugs.

Piroe should have been put out of his misery at half time. Contributed the square root of feck all today off the back of a poor season so far. Maybe he needs a couple of weeks to get his head/body right (no idea what the problem is, but he’s not what he was). Then unleash him against Cardiff.

Good game that, enjoyed it thoroughly. Shame that the fannying about at the back crept back in for the second half, we were putting ourselves under massive pressure.

Fulton and Manning both very good today. Nice to be able to bring two in-form players on as well.

Yep. We were sloppy after about 35 mins. Sunderland had a good spell before our second and were brighter second half. Fair play to them, they came to play and moved the ball well, were sharp and won most second balls. We seemed leggy. I’m not sure if they have played less football lately, but they looked fresher. Luckily they had no forwards though! No threat through the middle at all; only down the flanks (I think they’ve got injuries through the spine, in defence and attack).

But as you say we dug in and battled. That’s the difference with earlier in the season. That and having Benda in who doesn’t gift a goal a game.

Why does every game have to end like that ffs 🤣

Martin HAD to take Piroe off for Oba, not Oli. That was insane. Piroe was a passenger all match.

Anyway, no harm done. 15 points from 6. Runaway champion form. Piece of piss

15 out of 18 points. Mental that when you think about the 7 games before that we only got 6 points.

In fairness, before the board went up, I called it at 6 minutes due to all the substitutions, injuries and time wasting ( plus time taken to sort out te fisticuffs ).
That was before Benda went down in the 90th minute, so I thought would go to 7 minutes.

In fairness at 9 points from 9 games and in the bottom three I was ready to see the back of Martin.
Now 21 from 13 and in the top six and 3 points from top place, what an incredible turnaround.
Well done RM and all the coaches and players
