• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Rice actually played for Ireland main international team before changing his mind and went to the England set up.
I thought it wasn't possible to change your affiliation after you made an appearance for the senior international team?

Quick Google search says he played 3 friendlies for Ireland which then allowed him to switch.

Although it stings a little to side with England, it was hilarious to see Ireland fans go nuts over the likes of Rice and Grealish choosing to play for England. They would either have to be too young to remember the Jack Charlton days or be deliberately choosing to ignore them. Ireland had some memorable games at Italy '90 and USA '94 with those famous Irishmen Ray Houghton (Scottish), John Aldridge (English), Mick McCarthy (Yorkshire) plus many more.

If players from other countries choose to play for you when not good enough for their country of birth, you can't complain when your best players choose to represent a better international team that they qualify for. I'm well aware this could happen to Wales in the future, fingers crossed we avoid it happening.

If you represent your country in a full international, that's your lot; otherwise, you can chop and change as much as you want.

Adam Idah, born Cork ROI.
It is said that Adam as a boy would stand on the side of the harbour in Cork and watch as the magnificent Ferry would sail out of port. On the first occasion he turned to a fisherman and asked him “where is that magnificent ship sailing to sir?” The fisherman replied “The Promised Land”! “where is this promised land?” Adam asked the fisherman in an intrigued manner. “Swansea lad, the port of Swansea. It is said it is paved with copper!” Adam replied “I want to go to Swansea one day!” The fisherman chuckled and went back to repairing his fishing nets! His dream would come true many years later.

Likely that Idah might get a starting role for this one considering his heroics in the last game

That would be good for us to see how he comes through a longer match. More game time for him the better for the Swans. He will most probably be on the bench on Saturday, with Vipotnik starting again?
