• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

To be fair Gary Moore wasn't at his best with us.
Much better player when he was with Thin Lizzy.
Talking of Gary Moore, it would have been his 74th birthday today.

To be fair his goal in a 1-0 win v Huddersfield in the late 70s was a thing of beauty as was his celebration. If I recall, after sending in a piledriver from at least 20 yards, he ran towards the Open Bank who had been chanting his signature tune "Gary Moore, he can't score" (repeated), flicking the V's and screaming obscenities.

Ah, the good old days again, in my view better than anything he did with Lynott's crew.

That was an eye-opener yesterday. Idah looked really good in his cameo.
This opens up a fantastic opportunity for us to potentially cash in on VIP, bringing in a cheaper striker as competition, and then invest in the areas of the team that are desperate.
If we start next season with Burgess, Ronald, no right back. We will be negligent.

Hopefully we will keep Vipotnik for next season but we mustn't forget we also have Bobby Wales waiting in the wings.

If you think a player who has zero starts, zero assists and zero goals at a League One side is adequate depth.. then I think we differ.
Bobby has some potential - but in 10 games he has started on the bench 10 times and has played only 12% of available minutes.
Looking forward, I am way more excited to see Lissah compete with Key at RB and Congreve compete with Ronald at RW.
I am also getting increasingly concerned about Burgess (and to a lesser extent Cabango). He has become a high wage liability.
