Personally I believe he’s a far more accomplished player than VIP, be great if Vip stays but I genuinely believe that Idah is a more than adequate replacement.
Vip could quite easily have had half a dozen more goals, the cut back today in the first half , Coventry and Wrexham come to mind, would back Idah to put at least two of those chances away.
Looking forward to seeing what a fully fit Idah can do next season..,if he’s still here of course.

The counter-argument would be that Idah wouldn't have scored some of the goals Vipotnik did score, but I was already of the belief that we'll be fine with him as our first-choice when/if Vipotnik leaves, so today was a nice bonus.

Less worried about Idah being 1st choice as I think he’s capable of getting 15+ goals.

Key point, if Vipotnik is sold, is who we get in as second choice. Needs to be someone capable of regularly playing 20/30 minutes as a loan striker and starting some games in the 3-game weeks.

Got 6 in 828 mins of league football, that puts him on 30 goals across a 46 game season. Unlikely he’ll reach that amount of goals but could certainly see him scoring 15 in a season. I’ve had my doubts about him but that brace today does him no harm.

If we can find a couple of other forwards who can score more regularly, I’m confident we can cover Vips goals if/when he leaves.

I was already pretty confident Idah could step up for us next season if we sell Vip. After today it’s an even bigger confidence boost.

Any player is going to have to be pretty special to match Vips performance this year. I’m not saying Idah will do that but I think he can get 15+ goals for us.

I must admit, he looked good today albeit getting lucky with his 2nd goal but I believe that it was heading towards goal even without the deflection.

I still have reservations about him scoring 15 goals over a season at Championship level but today he showed he has something to offer.

Been saying it for a while and his stats prove it. Idah scoring record in minutes played is brilliant. And he is more involved in the game then VP. Both different players, but if VP is sold I wouldn't be suprised we go hunting for an unknown again with the money we have.

I also thought it was heading towards the top corner, Charlton commentators thought it was an unfortunate deflection but on replays the keeper had no chance unless the deflection sent it right at it

Yeah he’s played nearly a quarter of the time Vipotnik has and has 6 goals and 2 assists to show for it. And that’s with very stop start opportunities and coming on to kill off games and hold the ball up. I’ve got no doubts he’s capable to leading the line for us next season if he gets the opportunity.
