McB was probably our first choice by the sounds of it, but family/financial reasons made it unrealistic
Ruling out Kone rather than the "not commenting on other clubs players" line speaks volumes

If I was Wycombe I would really start to question my transfer strategy - that looked like a clear "we are no longer interested at the asking price" so good luck with your depreciating asset - give us a ring back in January.

If it was Coleman we would probably have offered them 6m with a 90% sell on clause and caved on the last day of the window

It's hell of a gamble for them. We will never know the facts, but they could of possibly taken 7m back in Feb off other clubs now 5m, come January it could in theory go to 2m to 3m, who knows. Madness.

I got the impression he was fine with it. Pointed out we have gone quiet on transfers but that's down to events, but overall Sheehan seemed on the surface like he knew something was or is going to happen. Fingers crossed.
