• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Sadly FA are 'looking into it'.

Not surprising how Quest repeated it about 20 times. Fair play to the Birmingham manager who along with Cooper said they didn't see it.

He was unprofessional as a player and appears to be unprofessional as a coach. In other news, grass is green. Hopefully he is replaced by somebody who can serve as a better role model for the younger players in the club.

In what way was he unprofessional as a player? :?: :?: :?:

I tend not not to read/reply to your posts as I find you a tedious t wat who has no idea what it’s really like to be a real Swans fan.

Alan Tate was never the most gifted footballer but he always gave 110% to my football club, the type bloke I want to be in the trenches with.

I’m very happy we have someone so passionate still involved at the club.
Never understood the comments that Tatey was not a gifted player.
He was on Man Utd's books. Won MOM on his first appearance for us.
Comfortable on the ball he was an intelligent defender. Held us together during the 'only ten men' match at Forest.
Moved up the leagues effortlessly with us. Had the ability to play in may positions including goalkeeper and his Prem League career was only undone by a golf buggy.

Iirc, did he not also captain the team on our first ever appearance in the Prem?

It's one of those things that's been repeated so often a lot of people can't help joining in, even though it's obvious bollocks.

You're right of course. Tate had plenty of technical ability which is one of the reasons why he was so adaptable as a player, perhaps to his detriment in the long run. If he'd settled into one position and stuck there he might have become a better player in that one position, but our squad would have been weaker as a result.

He seamlessly adapted his game to suit the needs of a numerous managers and rarely looked out of place under any of them. I don't know if he'd have taken to the Prem as well but I wouldn't rule the possibility out given his time again.

Many of the replies on this thread make me smile. Thanks guys.

4 match ban and £920 fine. Shame, but saw it coming obviously...

If I thought that Tatey may be hard up, I would suggest setting up a fund to pay his fine.
