I'd definitely take him on a one year deal (6k a week is less than Liam Cullen is on!) or a 'pay as you play' type of deal. The fitness regime he's on in Mallorca right now is incredible and his footwork is equally as impressive.

I suppose keeping him fit would be key, but he'd be a great back up for the front two and also a great plan B when we need to change things up. He'd also help defensively on set pieces, which is something we need.

Cullen's on more than £6k per week?! Madness.

Probably explains why hasn’t been moved on, not many L1 clubs are going to fork out, and with the underwhelming spell he had at Lincoln.

I was chatting with him yesterday as he's staying near me on an incredibly intensive personal boot camp. He's not going to Card**f.

Joining us seems far more likely and almost happened last season. He's a good plan B and a hell of a lot cheaper than I thought he would be, in terms of wages. Jay Fulton would be on more money than him.....

I’m sure he was on something like 6K a week at Reading

It's mad but he wasn't even on 6k a MONTH from Reading. It was a shop window exercise. West Brom saw his performances and signed him but two days after his debut the manager of West Brom was fired and Steve Bruce arrived.....the guy who got rid of him at Newcastle.

He played left back in a 7-a-side game against a load of ex-pros this evening and scored 6 in a 7-3 win. His accuracy is off the scale. These guys also play quite often against Laudrup, so they know a decent player when they see one.

With the best will in the world mate, if RM signed Carroll it would signal a total flip on everything he's ever said in terms of what he wants to do here.

Also, given our style, it's not exactly obvious how well it would work.

It was reported he was on £1K a week at Reading.
