Certainly making waves but needs to remember Labour needs to win back the Tory vote and this won’t go down well with the well heeled blue wall.

Her comments are naive because Boris will never apologise and it will just make her look like a ladette.

About time politicians started saying what they really think, instead of saying what they think will win them votes.

It's a shame that the spineless labour leader doesn't follow suit and back her up.

Any Welshman that votes for those vile bastards needs to give their head a wobble.

The Tories can do what they want, they know the chances of labour winning an election are slim without the Scottish seats lost to the SNP people in Essex etc are never going to vote labour, maybe its time labour and the libdems became one party or even a new party will emerge, as things are the Tories look safe

I couldn't agree more with every word. This though, is a leadership ploy. She wants Starmer out, and who can blame her. 14000 word statement of focus group bollocks ffs. He’s painted himself into an impossible corner. Everything is on one speech, and no one could do that, Why has he become yellow on energy nationalisation? Doesn’t he believe we need energy security rather than shareholder profit ffs (2). A Labour leader mind.

The issue with energy is the tangled web of organisations, fuels, countries and infrastructures. Some small examples are most of our gas storage is now outsourced to other countries and nuclear is relaint on EDF. The only way to pull this back in house is with a 10 to 20 year plan to build a UK infrastructure. The cost and time of getting out of the existing contractual relationships will be prohibitive. On a wider note Nord Stream 2 is still being argued about by the EU and Russia, if Europe has a cold winter and Russia turns the tap down, the whole of Europe includng the UK will run out of gas.

We certainly need a cohesive energy strategy for the 21st Century because it’s long been identified we need to address shortcomings in our generating capacity.

We are developing a nuclear power station at Sizewell in partnership with the Chinese; the mainstream media are now reporting that Minsters are considering removing China General Nuclear from the project after a cooling of Sino-Uk relations. The Chinese have invested in Hinkley Point.

We are a G7 country and I’d have thought we should be able to finance and build our own power stations.

If Russia turn off or reduced the gas flow, Europe’s in a lot of trouble.
