ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED ?

My mate just said to me "when was the last time you had confidence the Swans could score two or three goals in a match? Probably ten years ago in the Bony/Michu era!"
I said these days I didn't have confidence we'd have two or three goal attempts per match.

If we sack him then it’s an absolutely shocking call we made to appoint him.

Biggest summer in years and we take a punt. Hey ho.
It wasn't a punt in their eyes, they were advised to go with him and went with that advice.
My guess is that it was seen as the safe choice and he would get the points to see us up and around there.

Oh flipping heck I knew this would happen.

I was one of the few toe rags suggesting some caution in appointing Sheehan full time and predictably called a twat in process.

I’m not here to point score. Im here to advocate time if you genuinely were advocating for Sheehan to get the job.

This merry go round is ridiculous. Have the courage of your convictions.

For me I never understood the idea of Sheehan getting job FT. I’ve sincerely hoped to be wrong.

You dont get these opportunities often with a club like the swans to invest you need to not just invest in the players but with someone who has pedigree.

Now he’s there he deserves time. 90+% were all for him. Now as ever when things dont turn out we’re back to negativity.

He should get to the end of the season. We can’t keep doing this.
When the forum poll came out on here about Should Sheehan get the job full time , I voted no. Even when he was doing exceptionally well and people were changing their vote , i still stuck to my original vote and said no. I do absolutely understand that he did a fantastic job keeping us up, and it would have been a tough call to deny him his opportunity. Since then , after a full pre season under his belt ( which didn't go well) we put in a completely unacceptable passionless performance on the opening day of the season, and things have gone downhill since. He looks absolutely bereft of ideas on how to halt the slide , and our home form (mostly against average teams) is utterly depressing not only in results but also performances.

I was same as you. That % shifted towards sheehan at a rate of knots.

It was a silly group think period. He did a great job but his record was inflated because of an end of season wind down. It’s always a different prospect at the start of a season and also as discussed at time it was a rebuilding summer which takes a lot of skill.

I’m not keen on quick changes. We had an unbelievable opportunity to get it right last season. All the time in the world to get the right man. So frustrating.

He absolutely should get till the end of the season, but unfortunately, that's not really how it works anymore. Fan and - increasingly - club owner timelines are much shorter than they used to be. There are countless examples of teams looking really ropey in the first few months and slowly getting it together and making a charge from xmas until the end of the season and getting promoted or at least in the mix. We absolutely can be one of those teams and I'm not ruling it out, but everything is so NOW NOW NOW these days and no-one is given any grace that you just have to deal with the environment you're operating in. It seems insanity to me to talk about Saturday being make or break, but nothing surprises me anymore.
Yep. It is the now now now culture as you say.

I’m a little deflated with this situation as it’s oh so predictable if you think about it.

Idah's been here 5 minutes. He still needs GPS to get to the training ground/stadium. I get that he's an irredeemable c*nt for not single-handedly turning us into a purring goal machine in the few minutes he's been here, but maybe give him some time, eh? I'm not a massive fan of the signing if I'm honest, but good lord..

I completely understand why the South Stand is empty every week.
The kids in my grassroots teams are all football ball mad but rarely go.
I would very much like Sheehan to sort it out than us press the button again but he has to get us throwing and landing, at least some punches.
It feels like we’ve spent 5 years trying to work the ball out wide, into a promising position, when we all know full well it’ll be back with Cabango within 3/4 seconds anyway.
Thought this season would be different 🤷‍♂️

I think I referenced Sheehan was ‘the Cardiff gambit’ at the time. Personally I thought they had to give him a shot..to not would have invited worse criticism had their choice failed, but I would have gone for a contract that was short term or a low cost exit, as the risk of the current situation becoming real was easily envisaged. If he wouldn’t accept that, then you have the impetus and public reason to look elsewhere (we made a fair offer given his lack of experience, he turned it down). As it is, my thinking was January or March next year for evaluation, but the 9 games I’ve seen have been so bad and alarming, and his inability to motivate and adapt so stark, I’m not sure we now have that luxury, and things will have to improve quickly. And I’m not someone that’s spunked millions…if I was he’d be in my office explaining wtf he’s doing.

I agree we can’t keep sacking managers every 5 minutes, so maybe look at putting someone alongside him to challenge him and help him improve and get rid of any yes men and nodding dogs. Manage him, support him, kick him into gear. Not even sure any of that’s feasible but sacking should become the last resort not the first.

He needs to win on Saturday.

Agree with all of that. It’s beyond. For all we know he’d have got on the end of Tymon’s cross that Sputnik was too slow to react to. He’s had next to nothing. I wouldn’t have paid that for him either, it reeked of panic post Kone, but to write him off already is ridiculous.
