Armstrong Oko-Flex

How has his behaviour been whilst here? Would those ITK shed any light?

There’s a few comments on Twitter citing an unprofessional attitude.

I remember before he signed for us there was loads of stuff on social media about him and Obafemi.

As in him and Obafemi being combined in an unprofessional approach?

Most squads will have the odd bad egg every few years. A player made outcast for misbehaving. Where are we now in terms of players being cast to the fringes by Russy in just eighteen months? Five? Six? We can't be far off the point where people start to think that it might not be the players that are the problem.

There seems to be a standard operating procedure. Leave a player out for a bit. Make opaque references to them "knowing what they have to do to get into the team". Maybe chuck them the odd game now and again, but not enough to get into form, then freeze out completely, whilst "rumours" get circulated about the individual concerned having a bad attitude.

I've seen a few comments but don't know anything to back them up (or similarly don't know anything on the opposite to disprove them!)

What worries me though is that we do seem to generate some level of trend. Obafemi and Paterson have both been cited as having some level of attitude, we seem to have differences on Manning and Lati's contracts (and we had the issue with Paterson) and theres also been sprinkled suggestions of issues.

My experience on here tells me that that is driven by one of a few options

1. Absolute truth and we just have bad apples at which point we have to start questioning our recruitment process or the way that we handle fragile egos
2. Purposeful "leaks" from the camp to either try and create disharmony or get unpopular players/managers away (we saw this several times on our rise through the divisions) or even to protect dented egos who arent getting enough protection
3. Plain bad management (not necessarily the manager itself) and no real leadership in place to keep harmony
4. It's just not true and mischief making.

No idea what it is here but it's often convenient for football clubs to bring these stories to the public domain (indirectly) when its contracts/loans/playing time coming to an end.

I think the answer is we don't know but I used a lot of words to get there

I remember Grimes pointing out in the fans forum, don’t know if anyone went? But he said something along the lines of it’s important to sign the right players and not ones with bad attitudes that disrupt the dressing room, could have been stating the obvious of course or giving some sort of indication of certain players at the club.

Potter was big into looking into players in that regard, getting second and third opinions etc.

Matt Grimes. The Waylon Smithers to Russy's Monty Burns.

Or as Neefie put it, the Phil Neal to his Graham Taylor.

Maybe Oko-Flex should go on loan to Plymouth as a replacement for Whittaker and be allowed to flourish in the same way. 👍

He can't go anywhere else this season, after playing for West Ham in August and us.

Ah, didn't realise he'd played for the Irons. Maybe next season then and he can tear us to shreds when we play Argyle!

They changed it I think in the Covid season that it could and I do believe he could go to a country where maybe the season starts in say April (example)

Its a pretty damming situation for us though that they believe he will learn more not playing for them then he will even with limited game time here.
