• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

A truly miserable display from England and my desire to watch it deep into the night quickly evaporated. The duck from Burns will go down in history and gain the same notoriety as the Harmison ball to third slip. If ever there was a time and a place at which England needed a steady first hour it was here, instead they were demolished.

You love yer cricket like me Coops. Why bat first...was gobsmacked.

When you bat first and you find yourselves at 13/3 then plenty of questions will be asked.

A very strange decision and another poor batting display - 9 catches says it all, poor all round

First day of the first Ashes test in Brisbaine...
A pitch with a tinge of green (very rare indeed in Australia), heavy cloud cover...
Root wins the toss...
And decides...
To bat first. 🤡

Pat Cummins must have thought Christmas had come early 🎅

I saw a photo of the pitch three days ago and my thoughts then were along the lines of ‘oof, effin ‘ell I wouldn’t want to bat first on that’.

343/7 at close. Head scores a ton in 85 balls. Says a lot about our batting.

Any BT subscribers here? I've just read an appraisal of their coverage of day one (technical woes, laddish commentary). It sounds as bad as England's performance.

The commentary was almost as bad as England were in the field.

England heading towards an innings defeat. It’s going to take a phenomenal effort to secure even a draw from this point onwards.

Personally looking forward to why Root batted first. Then again by the time post match interview comes along hed have had 3 days to think of a reason.
Mind boggling.

Cummins said he was glad he lost the toss because he was undecided but probably would have batted first as well.
