Man United could do with an exciting young manager.

Not that it would ever happen, but it would be an interesting situation if Man Utd wanted him and stumped up a huge amount of cash...Gerrard would have the opportunity to manage one of the biggest teams in the world too. I very much doubt he'd accept but it would be quite funny to watch it unfold.

Two former players who are considered Legends at the club Dalglish and Souness did, Bob Paisley another former player did and was immensely successful and another Legend of the club.
It can be done successfully Gerard has the desire and ability to do it as well, if he did get the sack it would hurt him more because he would have failed the club, rather than being sacked by the club he loves.

Different eras though both at a time when football managers stayed longer and when Liverpool were simply the best side around.
Think it could be different - not saying it will be the case but maybe Gerard could even think Liverpool is too big for him as a job?
