• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Weird thread. Benda should have done better with the second goal. We were killed today by the manager’s lack of desire to win the game. The second half was awful.

No no it's all down to Benda who's had two bad games.

Benda has all the attributes he needs to play in the Premier League. He is however still young for a keeper and playing behind a flaky defence. Mistakes will happen.

Pretty much how I see it. Cost us two games in a row now though for me, can’t have any excuses, but he’ll learn.

What could he have done differently to win the game, with the bench we had?

Benda should have done better with both his positioning for the free kick was terrible. Shouldn’t be beaten his side, if the lad lifts it over the wall into top corner then touché, but he didn’t.

Classic, two mistakes from the keeper, a team fourteen points clear of the third placed team and with practically their entire Premier League side on the pitch and again it’s the managers fault, you can’t make this stuff up.

Spot on, objectivity at last.

Not convinced that's the case buddy. Combo of us running outa steam/Piroe crap/Benda chucking in the 2nd and playing a better side.
Effort overall was really good I thought anyway.
Roll on Sunday, something different...no pressure, just hope the desire is there.

Nope. 7 of the starting 11 Burnley players were not with them while they were in the Premier League. Only Roberts, Cork, Brownhill and Rodriguez played in the PL with Burnley.

2 of their 3 subs did play in the PL for them, but I think you can agree that when 8 out of 14 players didn't play for Burnley in the PL, then that is clearly not 'their entire Premier League side on the pitch'.

I’m not faulting the players’ effort but the second half tactics, such as they were, were absolutely baffling. As soon as Allen went off the game was done.

Joe hadn't had a kick since half time when he was taken off, his legs had gone.
Taking Fulton off at the same time was madness.

I'm not prepared to crucify Benda yet, he's produced some sound performances, and the cupboard isn't exactly overflowing in the goalkeeping department at the moment either.

See here’s the difference. I am neither a huge fan of Martin or a massive critic, you on the other hand seem to be making some bizarre posts in your pursuit of being proven right about him.
“ Im not faulting the players efforts” …well you should because a couple were well below par on that front, as far as taking Allen off what are you suggesting he should have done? flogged him to death?
There was hardly any difference between the teams today, they are running away with the league but you would never have known that today, again, two howlers from the keeper was the difference between the sides and nothing to do with tactics.

You seem to be mistaking with me with someone who cares about Russell Martin. He’ll be gone soon enough. We’ll all be here long after he becomes a footnote in Swansea City history.

In fairness the free kick was down to some non league standard football by Darling, the free kick was struck well, but yes Benda should have at least gotten a hand to it...

I don’t know about fixated but you certainly seem to want to turn every performance into an opportunity to criticise the manager…whatever floats your boat I suppose.
