• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Realistically players like Ben Lloyd and Kyrell Wilson should be on the verge of our first team squad this season if they were going to break through here. Both turn 21 this season. Both have probably suffered at the hands of us keeping players wrapped in cotton wool in our u23's for too long instead of being sent out to properly develop on loan from the age of 18 onwards. Us being a bit more aggressive in the transfer market probably hasn't helped either.

I suspect both are probably available on a permanent deal for free or a minimal cost. Maybe with some sort of buyback option included for us if they do kick on. Keeping them here to still not play would be a waste of their time and ours.

Harps back to the familiarities with players like Rodon,Dan James and McBurnie. These players benefited hugely from our relegation to the Championship, it was felt the safety net of Championship football was the right time and arguably wouldn't have got their chances in the Premier league if we stayed there.
Players like Wilson,Lloyd,Lissah,Congreve and Cotterill(sorry if I missed others) need to go out on loan to L1 and L2 clubs and be monitored from there.

Look at someone like Charlie Kelman, was sleep walking at QPR and gets sent out on loan to Orient, he has gone from a player just wandering the corridors of Loftus Rd to a player they would be looking a couple of million for OR even to benefit the team this coming season.

Players like Wilson, Lloyd, Lissah, Congreve and Cotterill should have been out on loan two or three years ago, but your general point is right, especially the bit about Rodon et al benefitting from us not being in the Prem any more. Players improve massively by playing actual, competitive football.
