• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Well this is interesting timing. Does this allow us to bring someone in?

Probably more for his benefit that he can sign for anyone outside the window now

Can only assume there was a compromise on the wages of the last year of his contract.
Still all the best to him, not suited to how RM wants to play (for what that's worth) but never put in less than 100% and he has respect for that

A defender who can and does defend!!

Wages aside, definitely not what we need ai! 🙄

A defender who looked half the player he was under Cooper when we saw him under Martin last season. Probably as baffled with the process as the rest of us have since become. I wonder what percentage of his remaining wages he’s taken. Half? Or is it much more than that.

I was about to type the very same question. What have we written off as a result of this mutual parting of the ways?

A defender who did exactly what was said on tge tin. Defend. More suited to a system with four at the back. Could’ve done with him at times especially when trying to see games out, such as Bournemouth and Reading last season, Millwall this. Bet he’s glad to be away from the process.

We tried to force him out this window and hoped someone would take him off our hands. Even tried to manufacture interest with the Cov stories.

This was always ending this way. Only doubt was whether would wait until Jan window.

Never the same after he was injured. Before that, often a real rock. Not his fault he was way overpaid; we have been run so poorly since 2014.

Not even a thank you from the club on the Bennett leaves statement, abit shitty of them ain’t it?

Considering he played with Martin at Norwich and has the much vaunted experience when we have such a "young" team it all stinks a bit. There is a way to do things.

The Twitter response from some was poor too. But not surprised from some of them

Decent defender who can’t pass for toffee. Tricky one when you’re playing well but when we’re as awful as we are now he should be one of the first names on the team sheet.

I reckon, given the way he was frozen out, he might well have called out Martin as an imposter and delivered a few home truths about things. Possibly not, but it all went 'forgotten man' very quickly, when we had no defenders on the bench even at one point and were still paying him a wedge. He might have had a performance condition triggering something I suppose.
