Best trainers out there for everyday use?

I still routinely use the pair of Scarpa walking boots I wore on a Gorseinon Tertiary College trip to Moscow and Leningrad (then) in 1988. Scarpa quality is on another level.

I have also bought a cheapo pair of modern Karrimor walking shoes off E-bay for pennies and have been well impressed by them.

Do the Scarpa boots come with a remote control?
