On a technicality relating to an agreement not to prosecute him made by a previous state prosecutor. How the testimony from the civil lawsuit didn't nullify that agreement is a question someone with more knowledge of the batshit crazy American legal system than me would have to answer.

Not to mention the dozens of other accusations he's only escaped thanks to the statute of limitations. Seems highly likely that's he's a nasty bastard. Still, he's 83 so hopefully not too long for this world anyway.
