Coming back up next season after a successful year in League 1, can they do an Ipswich and get promoted again?

I assume they will upgrade some of the squad, and can hang onto their manager Chris Davies (ex Swans etc) will also be on the hit list of other championship clubs following the success he has had with Birmingham after the Rooney debacle.

Over 100 points and having lost just 3 games all season will presumably give them a lot of confidence.

I think Brum could have a good chance next season, Wrexham, comfortably sitting in mid-table. Both will be a good addition to the Championship.

The leap from L1 to the Championship is a big one. Much bigger than it used to be, when "Mozzer" from the Bluebird side used to frequently declare how hard we'd find it.

It's possible Brum will hit the ground running as the clock on the PSR rules starts from now I believe. They might need to invest heavily though. For all they spent on Jay Stansfield, his goal tally from open play this season isn't great.

I read something from their owner / CEO today, claiming next year their revenue will be the biggest in the championship ever (not including parachute payments.

Possible. I haven't looked into the figures that much.

Tom Brady is a big figure but hasn't carried the hype of the Wrexham duo so I'd be surprised if their income has jumped that much.

This season they sold 1 player for 5m and bought a bunch of players for 40m. Euros that is. Stansfield was only 18m of that so they have done a significant upgrade on the team while down there. Not many teams can spend net 35m euros on transfers. What are we working with 5 maybe 10m

On Birmingham finances. Dont see how they can invest further in the squad this season. See this...

"But the headline of a £16m loss, in addition to the £25m loss Blues incurred in the 2022/23 season, means Blues will need to manage their finances smartly when they re-enter the Championship. Championship clubs can incur losses of £39m over a three-year period."

Spending 35m ransfers this season means the next accounts are surely going to break PSR.

Their revenue in the relegation season was 28m. However they have some kind of "facilities agreement" with investors Knighthead which gives them access to 100m

Link to the report on their accounts is here

Tomoki Iwata has done incredibly well for them this season, signed from Celtic, literally watch this player closely, potentially Premier League player.

Think they're going to go big and break the spend last summer. Wouldn't be surprised if they post a break even season for 24/25 financially giving them even more headroom for PSR.

Their sponsorships are massive as is apparently this St Andrews @ Knighthead Park bollocks. My brother in law is a Blues fan and apparently it's generating huge revenue.

Isn’t this the same Brum ownership group that oversaw their needless relegation to League 1 in the first place? Not going to crown them Premier League elect just yet.

What and how is that Knighthead thing working

They got relegated with a championship squad (Wayne fvking Rooney) and have improved on their squad since going down.
