Hell of a statement. If he indicated he would come back, would we take the hit, sack Sheehan and bring Rodgers in? Fantasy really but would be in my mind a real intent of ambition.
Other clubs fire under performing managers and bring in proven winning managers and take the financial hit, why not us ? Should have had him back last time, who knows where we would be now .

Only if the money is right and he gets backed.
Yep - and I'm sure at this moment in time, Rodgers would only be tempted back were we to give him one of the biggest budgets and wage in the league, which I can't see happening.

In any case he resigned and wasn't sacked, which would imply that the pay off a manager would usually be due isn't happening in this case. I mean not that Brendan isn't well off from his time at Liverpool, Celtic and the sacking compo from Leicester.

It would be a ballsy move for the club to sack Sheehan and I don't see it happening unless performances and results continue to be disappointing / borderline disastrous as they have been for the last month and half.
We would drop Sheehan in an instant if Rodgers agreed to sign. It would be different if we were say halfway through the season in the top 2 or 3, but we'll likely not be.

When Brendan arrived here last time, a lot of excellent groundwork had been done before him. Roberto and Sousa had both secured top 8 finishes. We had a really good batch of clever, technically good footballers who played a very distinct style. He came in and put the final polish on things and he did it in style.

There is none of that here to offer him this time.

He's walked away from Celtic at a perceived lack of talent in the playing squad. So I'd be shocked if he wanted to come back here and work with an even lesser standard of player in a much tougher league. And put his hard earned reputation at further risk.

Sorry to be so blunt about it, but for me this is just never happening, not in a million years.

I agree, I can't see it happening.

I will say though, I think if we were looking for a new Manager then they would be looking at our squad on paper and thinking there is an half decent squad there.

Not that I disagree with you, but he's a good manager and prospective players would be pulled in by his name and to work under him.

I agree though it's not happening!

I'm sure there are probably a handful of managers out there who might think that, but he is unlikely to be one of them.

Quite right. He was the final piece of the jigsaw, both his approach and being able to secure Sinclair.

Presumably he’ll be after a big job. Our mistake was not bringing him back when we had the chance in the PL.

With all respect for what he achieved here, having managed at Celtic, Leicester and Liverpool I can't see that Swansea would be high on the lsit Rogers' CV anywaybank balance. I wouldn't want him back in the current circumstances for him or us either.

I can't believe people are even discussing the possibility of Brendan returning to the Swans. Assuming he wants another management job in football, I've no doubt he sees himself going to a respectable premiership club, a big club abroad or a middling national side.

I don’t think anyone is seriously suggesting it could happen.
