• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Semenyo has gone for £10M to Bournemouth.
When you compare his stats with Obafemi, surely we should be looking for a similar amount, if not more, should a prospective suitor come in for him?

If he had his head on all season and continued his form and put 100% effort in then we probably would have been getting 10M for him.

It just shows how much of a complete modern prick footballer that obafanny is. Holding our club to ransom with his childish mood paddies. Great footballer in there but one of the worst attitudes to ever put on the Swan

Very interested to see how he gets on with Kompany, and let’s not forget, Bellamy.

The modern footballer, gets first real chance at first team pro level despite being ignored elsewhere, couple of goals in quick succession and the belief that he belongs amongst the game’s legends is undoubted in the egotistical narcissistic mind that is today’s footballer. You can probably tell I get annoyed by this sort of nonsense from people who don’t realise how lucky they are, self entitled without basis to be so. If these players were swans legends having given their all for the club over a number of years and wanted to go on to bigger and better things I’ll happily accept it. Sadly this is not the case.

Pretty sure I’m in a bad mood at the moment. I am running low on cider and wine, could be that!

How refreshing that we do our due diligence before signing these ego maniacs.

They stole Connor off us and we're underselling Obafemi probably to cheap, but he's got baggage, so maybe better to just cut our losses and ship him out.

In fairness Semenyo has played well and regularly for Bristol over the last 2-3 yrs.
Obafemi has played half a good season. No comparison really.

Modern day football has been totally spoilt by money and agents. The trouble is that these young players from clubs up and down the country are constantly told by the media, their agents how great they are and if they throw a tantrum, it will engineer a move to a bigger club paying more money to the player and agent alike.

The solution in my opinion is :
1 - players are always happy to sign a contract or an improved contract which protects them should they get injured but seemingly no protection for the club paying the contract for x amount of years.

2 - once a player is under contract, that should be honoured up until the last 6 months when they can negotiate are better deal with current club or move elsewhere.

3 - players like Obafemi should consider themselves very lucky to be earning what they earn in their early 20's. For me players with ego and a refusal to play when fit whilst under contract should not be paid their wages.

4 - train with the reserves till last 6 months or current deal. Oh and by the way, players should look all around them at present - there are millions of people struggling to pay the mortgages / energy bills and lots of them unable to feed their families. So players maybe need to think about Joe average in the REAL world of work, what it's really like working in a proper job and not the pampered lifestyle they have been accustomed too at what is a very young age. Short career I know, but get into the real world and be grateful for what you have.
