So only 2 of our 9 home games on a Saturday

2 Saturday
1 Sunday
2 Monday
1 Tuesday
2 Wednesday
1 Friday

Another game that I now won't be making

Another consideration in ST renewal

I get that Phil. Why don't they just switch it to 12.30 on the Saturday?
Just pisses people off.

I note the new date is on Mothering Sunday so no doubt that hits the attendance significantly.
"Sorry Mum, I've cancelled the family lunch, the Swans are playing"!!!

I can't believe, I told the family we can't fly to Italy on the Saturday cos Swans are playing so booked flights on the Sunday.. FFS I already miss most midweek games waste of time me having a season ticket

That was on the list of why we didn't renew a few years ago.

More and more games were being changed. Even though we could miss a few games and still breakeven, it didn't make sense to travel to games that were on TV.

As it happened relegation came and we've been able to get tickets for any game we wanted to see.

If I was going, I'd be really pissed off. 5 games I simply cannot make even if I got the urge again.

I'd already decided to miss that game as I've seen us play Bristol City twice already this season so I've booked a few days in Bulgaria leaving on the Saturday. Didn't realise we've only got 2 Saturday home games left this season so I guess those two (Boro & Hudds) and the last game v WBA on a Monday will be the only ones I'll be attending. Glad my old git rate ST is cheap (ish).

Would be far more sensible. Switching to a Sunday lunchtime on Mothers Day is just going to have a negative impact

Switches were one of the reasons I stopped going to so many away games in the PL, it now seems to happen more in the Championship. Is it Rotherham H on a Monday night. Lovely.

There should be a limit on the amount of non-Saturday league games per season (excluding games rearranged for postponements). The whole point of a season ticket is that you are generally committing to giving your Saturday afternoons up - otherwise it becomes a bit pointless. There's been a push to get fans back into stadiums but this is counterintuitive.

Should have read this before my last reply

Anyway was looking at our remaining home games

Wed 15/2 Blackpool - away with work
Tue 21/2 Stoke - possible but away with work Weds and Thurs
Mon 27/2 Rotherham - away 4am Tues morning so doubtful
Sat 11/3 - Boro - OK at moment
Sun 19/3 - Bristol City - nope
Fri 7/4 - BH Friday so possible
Sat 15/4 - Should be OK
Wed 19/4 - too early to say but often away Wednesdays
Mon 8/5 - WBA - should be OK

Thats probably a maximum of 5 of the remaining 9 games which would give me 10 over the season

I'll end up renewing I am sure I will but for many they wouldnt

I hope somebody is making all these points forcefully to the club.
I presume the police request is based on stopping a few idiots from arriving at the match tanked up, but with modern licencing laws, its just as easy to get tanked up before a 12.30 kick off.
The majority massively inconvenienced to cater for a few idiots

The whole 'change the date to stop people getting drunk' thing is very archaic - as you say, it's easy to get hammered for a 12.30 kick-off if you so wish.

Hell, even if it was a 9am kick-off you'd have plenty of people arriving fairly well-oiled.

I think there should be some compromise - a change of time, i.e. bringing it forward by a couple of hours (not that I think it makes much difference) - fine. But changing the date is overkill.

If games don't kick off on a Saturday at 3pm, clubs/EFL can flog the TV rights into the domestic market. Just saying.
