• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

But hang on. This budget has done, imperfectly, but tried, to do something about some of the inequality (which is, I agree, an absolute scandal) and those you are agreeing with have done nothing but moan.

This government, for all its poor so far, aren’t the ones that have caused this.
Come on Lisa. What they've done to address inequality in this budget is like turning up to the aftermath of a tsunami with a dustpan and brush.

I agree they weren't the start of/cause of all this, but they're still pretty hopeless.

The sad truth is that - apart from a very brief period under Corbyn - Labour have been a centre-Right party for over 30 years now. It's just continuity politics with its roots in Thatcherism, just like the rest of the last 45 years.

Centre right 🤣

Ah. So pensioners, who are the wealthiest generation that have ever lived should pay no tax and struggling young people bringing up kids, with small hopes of ever enjoying the wealth current pensioners have and won’t be able to afford to buy a house, should?
Generally a large proportion of their wealth is tied up in their property, which will either be handed down or in some instances not (if they have no one to hand it down too). That wealth is of no use to them when they pop their clogs.

Such a right wing budget that. Ffs it was very much on the left of centre.

What was right wing about that id love to know.

It’s quite bizarre defending a centre left gov. One that I pragmatically voted for without any love but can see how they’re trying their best and the people who should support them hate them.

The power of the media is something to behold.

This Government are definitely more to the left of new Labour. They’re much more traditional Labour in so many ways even Nationalisation of railways etc.

They’ve given inflation boosting pay rises, brought in a radical workers bill, taxed and spent with state and taxes at unprecedented levels.

It’s fascinating reading this. Also what do you expect? How can a terrible situation be turned around in less than 2 years?

I have so many issues with this Government but overwhelmingly that’s related to a lack of radicalism in reform of public services etc very much on the other side of the spectrum.

But crack on lads if you keep up this level of disappointment Farage will be licking his lips.

If anybody runs a business on here I'd be interested to know your thoughts on the budget !?... for me personally, it was appalling and again it's higher overheads, no incentive to scale up and has stopped recruitment dead in its tracks.

I feel a bit like the Oracle from the Matrix. A while ago, I said that if Labour get in, it will be like 'going from the frying pan, into the fire' And some of you laughed at me, Well guess what, you are not laughing now!

I am.

A split that has been forged by successive governments, its division by design.
I wouldn’t argue that point. But successive governments m of whichever party, are scared to do what needs to be done because they’re afraid of reactions like of this thread. This budget is a case in point.

Are people not allowed to be pissed off.

Yes. I never said otherwise. People can do or feel whatever they want. That includes me. And you. And everyone else. Doesn’t mean we all have to agree.
I didnt say you did. It's just you mentioned reactions like this, which suggested otherwise. Anyhow, it's all about opinions, and to be fair everyones opinions will differ, depending on each and everyones personal circumstances, so I guess theres never a solution that'll please everyone. Tarra a bit.👋
