I wouldn't say released players but ones out of contract.
I am sure that Naughton and Allen had a signing on fee but if they didn't then it would suggest there are others out there who would do the same.........some would do so to get their foot into the English league and in some cases would be earning more that they would have with their previous teams.

Take Ronald for example......went from earning around 2k a week to 6k over January with the opurtinity to get into the league being to good to refuse.
We know his signing on fee?

We need more Ronald type signings, not free transfer like Walsh and Paterson.

Would much prefer that any money invested is spent on players ready to make an impact in the first team. As cover utilise the younger players along with Allen and Naughton.

Are Allen and Naughton going to make an impact on 1st team for potentially 46 games?
I know you can't account for injuries but certainly age would come into it.

Someone will be interested.
We won't get our initial outlay back but someone will see a striker with 9 goals and not a regular as an opportunity.....i hope anyhow

Could be quite healthy should we sell Wood & Yates, on top of a 3M bonus for Piroe if Leeds do the business and also if Whittaker is sold I believe we have a healthy sell on fee for him.

Healthy? £18M loss announced last year, taking the cumulative losses over the last 2 years to £30M. That gives us headroom for a £11.5M loss max last season, which we’ll be lucky to get close to with all the c0ck ups over players and managers. Any profit from player sales is likely to disappear and we’ll just end up getting weaker (as we have year on year since we dropped back down into the Championship).

(Piroe’s sale might just have saved our butt last season).

I know you can't account for injuries but certainly age would come into it.

100% they will and they did last season. It was quite noticeable the drop off in performance when Allen was taken off around the sixty minute mark.

Their experience in and around the firs team on match days, training is invaluable, plus the youth team as well. Absolute model pros, the pair of them.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the owners think it’s what the fans want. I can see (just) the place for one senior old boy in the dressing room, but extensions for two players who are unlikely to be able to play much seems like a waste of the little money we have.
