• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

He’s a good defender at this level but needs to be playing next to a ball player. For me, we need to be looking at a central defender this summer, distribution from that area needs to be better.

It's his passing ability that gets to me. It's woeful

Passing isnt the only issue with him.

We all knew that side of his game was suspect from his Ipswich days but it's purely the defensive side of the game that has been disastrous.

He's scared to engage in any defensive duels (just look at 2nd goal today) a proper CB engages there and either takes the man out or ideally wins the ball. Instead he keeps backing off and off and off allowing them to drive while he instead marks complete thin air.

Even when he does finnaly decide fo engage in someone driving at him we have a Wrexham situation where they just glide past him like he's not even there.

He's good against teams like Oxford and Charlton where a majority of their attacks are crosses into the box and he can clear them all day long but other then that he doesn't really have a use.

Also another thing which really irks me is that besides his goal against Forest has anybody every seen him make first contact from an offensive set piece this season? Darling would have 4-6 goals by now.

He's a definite upgrade in the summer but sadly I dont think we will be able to shift him with his contract length and wages.

His aerial defending in open play is excellent but is questionable on set peices. He hasn't scored in the league all season from our set peices which isn't good enough.

He is too slow in both pace and decision making especially under the press and his passing is just not up to the way Matos wants to play.

Cabango’s worse.
There’s nothing wrong with Cabango. He’s suffered this season from having a no cover at right back for most of it. We get opened up down the right side time and time again every game.

Whether that’s because of the players or because it is true that Matos is attempting for some reason to play as though we are Liverpool who knows. Last season with Key at one side and Darling the other he was fine.

I’m reading threads like this (ignore the player comparison) weekly from Falkirk fans, and other Scottish teams fans in fairness.

Said a few months ago I’ll be shocked if he’s not in the starting 11 next season.

Hope so. There needs to be a proper routeway into the first team from the youth/reserves, and if a loan spell as impressive as his has been isn't one then something will have gone wrong somewhere.

He has been the stand out player twice this season when playing Celtic, saying that, the Tic have been woeful this season.

I have a look on Twitter nearly every week to see how he’s done that weekend, and I’ve n ver not seen glowing reports. Read the replies to that post I put up earlier, or this thread. Some of our fans reckon he’ll be a fourth choice for us next year 😳. Perhaps all the Falkirk fans are high on irnbru every week, then that may explain the platitudes he gets week in week out.

He's quality Nj, I'd put him in at centre half before Burgess against Middlesbrough on Monday if we could, and have absolutely no qualms.

Nathan Wood looking very good against Arsenal. Seems like only yesterday he was getting similar criticism as Burgess.

Nathan Wood's biggest problem is that he hitched his star to Russy. Perhaps the worst possible coach to develop a young defender.

Always had the talent for me. Just needed the right manager to bring him along. Wouldn't be surprised to see him back in the Prem soon, with Southampton or otherwise.
