Withdraws from Wales duty for personal reasons.

Hope he's ok

Bennett is suspended from the Blackpool game, Cabango will almost certainly replace him. A good impression in that game may regain his place back, Bennett hasn't been playing that well lately. Chances are Ben wouldn't get a game in the internationals, so maybe he's prioritizing a place in the Swans team.

That did cross my mind. I hope it is the case, and not anything in any way serious with him or his family

Bennett and Cabango are centre backs not full backs. Martin has put a full back in the CB role and CBs in the full back positions. Bonkers.

I echo these sentiments. He's a real presence I feel in the making.

It's more than prioritizing his place in the Swans team, it's prioritizing his very future in the game over sitting on the bench for a manager who's not going to use him. Not being there for Martin's sessions over international breaks has clearly hampered his season, and since he hasn't been involved at all with Wales, with sub par defenders like Lawrence and Lockyer ahead of him in the pecking order, it's been a thorough waste of time. He's in danger of moving further to the fringes here which will be bad for his future with Wales.

His brother got a bit of talent as well by the looks of it.

Took it well, just a little quicker than Ben. 😉

Excellent post. I’d add Mepham to that list of sub-par defenders though. Physically weak and error prone, I’d play Cabango ahead of him every time. Give it a year or two and Cooper will probably be a better bet than him too.

Agree Cabango should be starting for Wales, as he's better than Mepham, but Lawrence and Lockyer aren't at the same ball park as him. Page must have an issue with him as he's put him behind Lawrence in the pecking order - don't think Cabango made the bench during the Euros. It doesn't make any sense as Lawrence has been shocking particularly in his last couple of apperances.

I find it hard to believe that Page would be stupid enough to put his club allegiances ahead of his career, but he’s known to be a Bassey and some of his selections are so baffling as to make you wonder if he’s trying to help Cardiff out. Colwill ahead of Tom Lawrence, Harris ahead of Matondo (or even Cullen for that matter), Vaulks ahead of, well, three million Welsh men, women and children who could do a better job, to be frank. Cabango being a Cardiff boy playing for Swansea might have pissed him off.
