• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

One of the oddest descriptions of a footballer.

He wasn’t the quickest but he was skillful, busy and determined, and filling the boots of the mighty LT10 was some task but he did it well. Another cracking and under appreciated player.
It also took us a long time and a lot of money to replace him after he went to Wigan with Martinez.

Kuqi, Trundle, Beattie, Moore, Priskin, Nouble, Emnes, Easter. It was only Borini (briefly) and Graham who achieved to a similar level.

The problem wasn't so much that we started signing players for higher fees and higher wages. The problem was that we started signing players that Huw Jenkins wanted rather than the coaches he employed. Ki Sung Yeung was a perfect example. Laudrup used him a bit, but clearly preferred De Guzman. Eventually he got packed off on loan then recalled when Jenkins appointed a more malleable (or so he thought at the time) manager. I don't doubt that the issues between Jenkins on one side and Laudrup/Tutumlu on the other were a big factor in his thinking going forward.

Money started getting spaffed away, more so after the takeover when the potential pitfalls of overspending were no longer Huwbert's concern, and the revolving door of coaches made little difference.

Don't forget Leon Knight, scored hatrick on his debut. Things went a bit tits up after that, for some reason 👀

Anyone know the real reason he was transfer listed? It’s nearly been 20 years…

I was told by a former shareholder and former friend that an abandoned car was discovered in London, rented out in the clubs name and with a gun in the glovebox

No idea if I was being fed crap
