Bristol airport loses legal challenge against Cardiff rival over £205m subsidy
Tribunal dismisses claim that the Welsh government’s financial package breached competition rules
Use it or lose it!
Bristol airport was a bugger to get back from 2 weeks ago. Road & M4 closures meant a journey time to Swansea of 2 hours 50 minutes. This was leaving the airport 10 minutes after midnight.
It's weighing up the extra cost of flying from scumdiff against the time & hassle of using a different airport. We will have flown from Bristol 3 times before the end of this year. Madeira & Malta are not possible from scumdiff.
I wouldn’t say it would sway me away from a destination, but it plays a heavy part in my decision. Bristol is a last resort.I never consider Bristol, always Cardiff for me. If the destination I fancy doesn’t fly from Cardiff then I’ll change my destination. Nothing wrong with Cardiff airport in any description.
Yes, the lack of destinations is a big problem, they need to expand them.Bristol is an absolute ballache of an airport and I’d use Cardiff every time if they had a wider range of destinations.
You’re going to Baglan and you wouldn’t rather be delayed?Yes, the lack of destinations is a big problem, they need to expand them.
On a selfish note, it's absolutely ideal for me to come over and see the Swans. Two different airlines offering flights from Alicante, both pretty cheap outside the summer months when there's no football anyway. And the airport shuttle bus, then train is ideal for getting to my base in Baglan. With the lack of customers there on the way back, it's like having my own private airport! I know such an uneconomic proposition can't last, though.
I'll set Darran on you, mate. We don't all live in snooty Monmouth! You’re going to Baglan and you wouldn’t rather be delayed?
