• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Ah ok, glad there was a chant for him yesterday, he deserved it and it's good that he hears something, even if it's only say " there's only one Carl Rushworth etc etc".

The Fabianski one was great of course, but the " big Pole in our goal" etc was asking to be sung.

Sainthelens post is not aimed at you Blaze. And good on you for your past and current support.

No, Sainthelens' post is a pop at me, because as the OP, I suggested a song for the excellent Rushworth.

Sainthelens says there is in fact a song, But then gets some subsequent venom in without knowing facts - ie saying I'm a dull armchair poster.

Fact is I've been going to Swans matches for over 50 years, both home and away ( latter less now). And at the Sunderland game yesterday near the South Stand, I couldn't hear any song about Carl Rushworth - and if ever there was a time for a chant for him, that was it.

So what is the chant/ tune ? And btw was it sung yesterday.

That would be a helpful reply Sainthelens. 😅

What you after? You want me to sing it to you ?

Nah. Got a decent reply from Neath Jack.

Suggest you just read Blazes' last post, second paragraph, second sentence. Oh...and chill out as well 😅

Wasn’t it you that used to travel all sorts of random places in your car watching us? Preseason games on the continent etc?

Sorry to ramble but hopefully there's a valid lesson in here somewhere

You're probably remembering the pre-season in Austria - it was announced at the very last minute for the following day. I found out about it on my lunch break, booked the afternoon and week ahead off work, booked the ferry, took out breakdown cover and travel insurance and by 6.30pm I was en route to Dover - via Halfords so that I could pick up those headlight adapters and a couple of gallons of oil in case my old Pug 306 became unwell on the way. It was a 16 hour drive and I only had time for one piss stop, getting there 20 minutes before kick off. I had a great 5 days in the Alps and caught both our friendlies

I remember having a bit of a holier than though attitude towards the supposed armchair fans back then, with ECB pointing out to me that I was only able to attend every game because my life situation at the time afforded me the luxury, and that it was no measure of fandom. He was completely right of course

I saw every game under Sousa, our promotion season and our first in the Premier League - so not a bad time to be following

Then by 2016 I couldn't pour a glass of water for myself, leaving the house nevermind the continent became impossible. I still dont recognise the person who was able to achieve those things, but thankfully it all happened at a time where mental illness is more respected even if still largely misunderstood. Without the NHS and close family and friends I'm not convinced I'd still be around now to follow my beloved team... Even if it is from my armchair!

Best of luck to you Blaze. The good news is that you have the best breed of dog in the world with you to keep you company and your spirits up! We're looking after the in-laws miniature schnauzer this week and he's a diamond.

Didn't you also have some kind of Swans badge / magnet or something that you stuck on your car as well?

Sorry to hear about your ill health, best of health going forward.

😂 Ye it was one of those light up roof mounted taxi signs with SCFC and the Swans badge on it. Only used it once, weaving in and out of the home fans as we left Selhust Park having scraped a 1-0 win with Kuqi on the scoresheet. I think Lifelong may have been with us that day. Done well to leave with the windows intact
