Highly doubt we have a sell on clause on a near enough 30yr old midfielder? More likely performance related

For a deep lying midfielder 29-30 is prime playing age, won’t really start deteriorating (in theory) for a few more years yet

To deteriorate I think you have actually have to be decent to start with.
