Chris Rea

I didn't even realise pancreas removal was a thing - now, never mind forty years ago when his was removed.

Seemed like a very modest and likeable chap when he appeared as a guest on 'Gone Fishing' a few years ago. Sounded like he'd had major organs removed and living on borrowed time.
Not a fan of his music, but each to their own.
RIP Chris.

I detest his Driving Home song, it used to haunt / upset me on my drive home from work in Newport every bastard Christmas. Still hate hearing it today.
Only that Mariah Carey abomination and Whammaggeddon runs it close. Makes me physically gag.

RIP Chris.

Nothing wrong Maria Careys All I want for Christmas or Whams last Christmas, Chris Rea's Driving home for christmas is class and after getting stuck in poxy traffic today its spot on.

What's your Christmas favourite song en ?

This is another favourite The Fairytale of New York, by the Pogues.

Crosby, Bush.Wood and John.

Hell of a band.

Kate Bush is the only one I actually like. The others are merely tolerable.

I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day - Wizzard.

Crimbo songs ought to be retired 20 years after their release date. For 20 years. Then they can be played again for a further 20 years, and so on. Keeps things fresh.

See also Bohemian Rhapsody.

Or any of Queen’s adolescent tripe.

Loved Elkie Brooks cover of ''Fool if you think it's over''
Absolutely Great song, And a few year back I would have actually put money on, that it was a 70's song by Elkie Brooks, I just listened to it, 5 mins ago, and for me it just sounds like a 70's song, but Wiki informs she released it 1982. For some reason, I don't even remember back in the day, Chris Rea actually singing it, always thought it was Elkie Brooks

R.I.P Chris Rea.
