Well said Coops, we've been way too nicey nicey in years gone by. Last night was on a par with Citeh in the cup and Fulham at Craven Cottage. Blatant cheating.

Watching the game last night I did feel as if something wasn't right. Nothing outright but just a feeling that decisions weren't going to go ouf way. Intentional or a slight subconscious bias who knows, but that last minute 'goal' I didn't see a foul on the keeper, but the whistle could have been blown for infringements in our favour

Is it cheating or just plain incompetence?

Cheating.

It was a melee and the ref was looking for something to avoid awarding a contentious looking goal. It was a superb finish and we were denied by a referee's call. There are certainly players that get on the bad side of refs, Coops may know more than I do. That was a bit of rough and tumble with Ayew initially foulled imo, then manning up and the Wednesday keeper getting a very lucky and incorrect call in his favour.

What the whole game including the first half when a Pulis team was passing through us?

We have to agree with Dar here, we were poor in the first half.
Finished strongly and these goalmouth scrambles always end up with a ref blowing for something.

We need to move on and try to work on a 90 minute performance not just 45

Aye, we were very poor first half because ayew wasnt playing, as soon as he came on the tempo changed, we kept getting the ball in good areas in the final third that we werent in the first half.

It's a lesson learned for cooper, he needs to try different formations for when ayew isnt available as we rely on him too much, he has to see that in certain games its horses for courses, cullen wasnt cut out to play against a pulis team especially from the start, he needs to come on with 20/25 to go to run tired teams ragged.

For me cooper is getting better and better, he stuck up for himself and the team last night by sounding out that cheating twat of a ref, yes he will get a fine but now the refs and their organisation will hopefully treat him and us with a bit of respect.

My comment was about the ref not the football.

Apart from the first 10mins Wednesday dominated us and could have scored a couple more. There wasn't much for the ref to make decisions on but still had the start of a a feeling that things weren't going to go our our way.

Second half was a better performance but I still couldn't see us winning due to our slow thought when getting near their penalty area.

We were poor first half and Cooper admitted that at the start of his comments after the game. We were the better side in the second half but we looked like that side that we were too often last season - devoid of ideas on how to break down a well organised opposition.

This was pointed out (I think) by Dr W'Ob but when we have Grimes in midfield play slows down much more often then when he isn't and the key to break down a side like the one we faced last night is more speed and fluency to our passing

Recently with fulton we are quicker getting ball into the final third and having ayew up front we look dangerous.

But as has been mentioned several times grimes slows play down to a snail's pace which therefore gives teams time to organise their defence.

What was the basis of his pre match concerns regarding referee appointment?

Agreed and most passes are entirely predictable which helps them even more
