Cooper makes statement

I think the media have been told to keep things under wraps but this is, I firmly believe, as reported on Saturday although the speed it's playing out does us no favours

Hes toast, Marsh is gone already it seems

If this is the case Winter should be the next out of the door.....the whole thing is a shambles Cooper should be nowhere near the team if he is leaving...I have offered my opinion on the other board but he should be on gardening leave with a statment explaining it has been mutualy agreed that now is the time for a managerial change thanking Steve and his staff for their commitment and work of the last two seasons and wishing them well for the future.

All this speculation and rumour is slowing potenetial recruitment, and possibly unsettling newly signed players...and doesnt paint a good picture to those outside of the club.If thi sis all about Cooper wanting a better contract and the club not budging then I am not sure what manager we may get next!

Hit the nail on the head here, whatever anyones opinion on whether he should stay or go, it should have been settled before the pre season start.
There was talk of an ultimatum at one point, obviously that hasn't panned out well. Complete mismanagement at board level

Very happy with this news, can only imagine how bad the football would've been for another season with a even more demotivated Cooper in charge.
Only shame is the fact that it is so close to the season, really limits who we could attract.

Who is he? Pardon my ignorance but are Goldstone's affiliated to the club? I'm sure I've seen their name banded about before but that was maybe with the trust? Can't remember.

Cooper still hanging on in there. Imagine after all this he’s still there for our first home game and we start the season poorly. Toxic atmosphere on the way.

Very hard not to agree with this.

It was made pretty obvious after the play off game, even well before actually, the relationship between Cooper and Winter had broken down, you could probably trace it back to the Peterson sale. Now, I don't blame Winter for trying to get some cash as results mean Cooper could have been of interest to clubs, but as soon as it was clear their were no takers, they should have sorted out a package and got the replacement in. To let it run this close to the season is a shambles to say the least.

The players all would know what is going on, and potential players coming in also.
