COOPER OUT

Do you think it would only be 400k?

That Shirley wouldn't even be a year of his salary which he has left?

I have no idea what Cooper is on but 400k is only 8k per week - I would have him on at least double that ? Could be well off the mark mind

Maybe you're right, perhaps I'm a bit out of touch with the wages of managers at this level I guess. But surely with a pay off it would only be fully paid if he didn't get another job. Effectively gardening leave?

Think it's all academic though, don't you?

I suspect it probably is. I dont think it will even be a consideration right now in the corridors of the Liberty. Two seasons, two play off places (assuming we don't blow this one completely) will be enough to keep them coming

Had we had crowds in this season we would be lower in the league IMO and that would have changed things

Saddens me that it is the case but think you're right. Can only see it ending one way though and it'll be sooner rather than later

Personally I think he's doing the best he can.
He has very limited ability, not much intellect and was obviously hit with the ugly stick several times as a baby.
He's had a lot of luck this season, more cheap pens than WH Smith, f he gets Swansea to 7th, he's done well.

Thing is FB, your right. Muff will take someone's place in top 6 and win the play offs.

Nearly £1m a year for a first club management job? Cooper must have a helluva agent.

I'd agree with you, but the higher end of estimates is that much. Can't see it TBH.

I think we'd have to call it quits on him this summer for £350k. There's no signs of improvement and plenty of degredation over two years. Hard to imagine things getting better in year #3.

Agreed Doc, we are going backwards at a rate of knots and its a gamble, imo I think he will stay on until the end of the season unfortunately.

I think it’s a case now of seeing the season out and see if he can reach play offs and get us promoted that way the Yanks will then sell up and won’t give a toss about what happens then.

In the sober evening light, I think we are in for a very rough few years. I think this will turn out to be the last throw. It’s a bit galling as we looked in a pole position post Norwich, but it was always really a mirage. I will never believe that a better genuine coach (that is, coaches actual players skills and has tactical awareness) rather than someone that just does shape, would not have achieved more with these players. A decent coach would create simple patterns and movement. Instead we don’t have a clue when we have the ball, only knowing what to do when we don’t. He’s crap. Lisa is right too though, the players are very ordinary and everyone that can fetch a price is sold on, then replaced from the parts bin. Their attitude stinks too as they spend most of the game hiding, but I honestly don’t think they have any patterns of play to fall back on, other than defend without the ball.

Cooper still needs to go, or we will absolutely plummet next season. Barnsley, Reading don’t have better players yet they are doing better. Cooper’s lost them, they have lost all confidence and belief. You can see that, like us, they have had enough. If his team talks are like his pressers, I’m not surprised.
